Today I acquired...........

Today I acquired a piece of rusty metal.

I picked up a B&D valve refacer from @Stueeee a year, or was it two, ago.
This part had been broken and a rough repair carried out on it.
Now to try to progress the restoration of it which started last year.

Next need to get some resin anchor nuts (or be less lazy and turn some on lathe) -screwdix etc.. were OOS for today collection.

Also need to get a duck head attachment. As it is, fairly certain it will scratch up any wheels.

Local engineering firm near me gone under selling of some decent stuff on FB some strong money but couldn't resist these

Castrol Magna 2 (high speed spindle oil) , FUCHS Renep CGLP68 (slideway oil) and 20l of Antifreeze all for £25



Also this nice 2 part 6" machine vice for £30



Not 100% on what the other thing in the box is , its got a T-nut on the bottom so guessing its a positioning fixture

This has a bad connection where the 12v comes out so it was put for the bin, if I hold the connector it works and I seem to notice they still sell this model but it has a lead hanging out now, maybe a common fault?

Another orange welder this one was an absolute gamble, but it was the right price. Needs a new rotary encoder, and some new wire feed rolls as the existing ones have been mullered. I bet it was put to one side at one point because it didn't weld very well!
Done a shade over 1000 hours, its serial number is just a few after my other S3 which has STILL only done around 20.

100%. I love gambling on lorch welders, as usually there's nothing much wrong with them. I'll probably sell this one straight on, although it's got speedarc which mine doesn't...
I think the S8s at work, one has done 2400 hours, the other only 600 odd. Still weld like new.

Just looked at the measurements for this machine, versus the one it's replaced, (a GBH18V-LI), & apparently this one's 24mm shorter than the old one, & I thought that one was compact. This's a photo alongside its full, relatively standard size, brother.



Nice weight for one handed use, & the kickback control will be very handy there, as a just incase.

Never got on with that speedarc particularly, I usually go back to standard spray. always find it a bit spattery.

Anyways

A phone stand because I'd like to restart to make videos and this thing would offer better shots than the tripod due to its adjustability.

I've then found an used 7" handguard for my M4 because I've broken mine and it's held in place by zip ties.
It would work as temporary replacement because I'd like to fix the original one and keep that as spare.

I've found other two G&G Hi-Cap stanag mags offered a lower price just for those two and said the seller to keep the P-MAG because I already know it won't work on mine, plus I have a bunch of mags .
But those work the best on my AEG

I've bought those two a month or so ago but never delivered, asked eBay and deleted the order but eventually the seller contacted me apologizing because he lost the password and he didn't know I've bought them.
We eventually come to a settlement and I've got those delivered.
I'm waiting for those.
So I've ended up (not yet but soon) with 8 G&G Hi-Cap stanag mags, and other 5 unbranded mags that work fine but they randomly have feed issues like dry firing every once in awhile.
They are usable but on full auto only.

Another little helicopter for my Lego collection.
I've got it delivered on yesterday morning and I think I'm going to assemble it right now
