I just received confirmation of my DX100 radio award I had gained it before over a combination of my call signs but this is for my full license only.
Probably doesn't mean a lot to most but it's a big personal achievement

(It means I have confirmed contacts in 100 countries)

I'll not pretend to understand what it's all about but congratulations anyway.

Made more mess, the bit of existing concrete was not really wide enough especially when you get bigger trailers/tractors/folks that can't drive so it's getting widened by 1.2mtr, time to throw more money in the ground so Rachel can't get her hands on it, apart from VAT/national insurance etc etc...

How many call signs have you got? I thought you got just one, regardless of whether you had a full licence or not. Mind you I got mine back in the late 70s when things might have been different.

Today, for the exorbitant price of three whole pounds, I acquired this from the local bootfair:



I didn’t really need it as such, but for £3 I thought it was worth a punt.

Got it back home and fitted a coupling and some scrap pipe and an end cap and gave it a quick pump:

I was pleasantly surprised to see that it works well, and even more surprised that those plastic push on pipe fittings were able to withstand over 300psi!

I have no immediate use for it, and looking back I don’t think I’ve ever had a use for it but for £3 I just had to have it!

So if anyone here needs one, you’re welcome to come to Kent and borrow it!

Yes it's a sport discipline in Italy, it's a game nothing too serious at least till you talk about safety.
Now our regulations are not as restricted as in Germany where not even airsoft guns can shoot full auto and have to stay below 0.5 joules.
But we have the 1joule limit
In other countries you can play with 5 joules which is almost our limit for pellet guns (.22 -4.5mm)
Now a 6mm BB flying at around speed of sound can cause a lot of damage.
Our airsoft guns shot at around 90 meters per second only.
Still dangerous, people got broken theet and someone unfortunately lost an eye.
That's only about replicas, there are other things we use that might be deadly too
Granades, at least the ones that actually use explosive in them, smoke nades can cause fires or intoxications.
Now the Claymore replica I've got works just like a mouse trap, it has two spring loaded arms inside that physically throw the BBs via a fabric strap.
There are granade launchers too, some can reach up to 200 meters and it's a pretty big, fast and heavy neoprene rubber slug , filled with BBs powder and a little explosive charge, just imagine to hit someone close range directly in the face, with one of those, you may actually kill him.
That's why safety has to be taken particularly seriously while playing airsoft.
Another thing I found stupid, many people run fake medkits, IFAK, tourniquets.
That's stupid because they have to be real IMHO.
We run, crawl, jump acting like soldiers (we play war essentially) with camouflages, under the rain the sun, we raid buildings etc .
You need just a second to fall on broken glass bottle, or on a scrap of metal or whatever you may actually need seriously real stuff while waiting for an ambulance and proper medics.
On the other day I've heard about a child who fell in park with her bicycle, she died because something cut through an artery.
Now that's an unfortunate disgrace, but we seek for getting hurt while doing our things .
Milsims are a completely different world, there are blank firing guns too and I really don't like much that

Today I was handed possibly the most pointless adjustable spanners I've come across in my line of work however they will do just fine in my tool box at home! Who needs a 31/42mm opening spanner thats so short it couldnt possibly be used to actually undo a nut/bot that size!

I also took delivery of some new welding gloves along with a selection of general purpose ones to try out/use.
