Did some of this sort of work for Colvic craft when they were at Earls Colne airfield many moons ago.
100% with what Barking Mat says.
The one thing that is more important that all the other tools will be ventilation, you really need forced ventilation. when they were laying up the large moulds, they had massive fans blowing fresh air in all the time as the fumes from the resin sink and will sit in the keel. doesn't take a lot of fumes to make you quite ill.

A big cheap office fan is the cheapest answer to that.

I think the first stage will be removal of the existing ply and then cleaning up all the existing tabbing.

I mean in an ideal world you'd have a welding style filtered fresh air system going into your face mask, but rarely do we live in an ideal world.

A micro particle face mask, and an office fan is pretty realisic.

Not going to get into a row with you , but here in the uk nidaplast is way less expensive than genuine marine ply
Also as you can “paint” epoxy straight on. It then makes an extremely strong lighter than ply and semi buoyant structure .
We have built entire structures with it in my boat world for over 20 years.

I think the boat is 30+ years old...water got in the deck hatch. When pumping it out I noticed rot in the ply...I suspect that the hatch has been leaking for many years would be my guess.

I will be masked up...fibreglass is nasty stuff. I also have a 3m adflo airfed with a clear helmet so think I'll use that mostly except when laying up when I'll switch to a vapour mask.

I'll post photos when I'm up there...the boat is about 3hrs away so the first task was getting all the tools together.

Cold water, very cold water is your friend when you need to remove glass fibre strands from your skin, ice cubes work really well .

when laying up large areas of glass we used to use heavy duty marigolds. they seemed to stop the glass strands better than most other gloves, but that was many years ago, there may be better gloves now.

Over here it's nearly impossible to source genuine Scandinavian birch marine ply. If you can find it it is very very expensive.
Most of it is from China and is rubbish. In the not to distant future there are going to be a lot of construction projects getting redone due to the plywood failing.

Tyvek disposable overalls. Few pairs.

Plenty of nitrile gloves and maybe some marigolds/rubber gloves.

You don't want the fibreglass going through your washing machine!!

Not half, I bought a sheet for my small trailer floor thinking it would be a good alternative but it didn't last two years. I replaced it with some Sterling board (good quality OSB) and it's still good after four years of abuse.

I went to a local small boat builder who made 14ft runabouts to install a phone extension. The layup shed had a pair of jeans leaning against the wall .
