My £90 Falken fronts are near the legal limit after around 15k milles. The rears have plenty left.

The Falkens seemed ok when new but soon as it got cold and a little wear they had little grip.

Any recommendations? Size is 205/60/R16

I fitted cooper AT3 and they are doing well, bought second hand near new ,four for the price of two .

Mine are General Grabber AT3, come with 12mm tread and rated for 50K miles.
I've done 20K on them so far in 5 years and they're still on 10mm with no cracks or sign of wear.
At £120 each they were £40 more than unknown-brand road tyres which kept wearing out or picking up nails.
But they're worth it to me (Disco td5 auto, 235/70 16, standard alloys), cruise nicely at 70-ish, quiet and loads of confidence on grip.

i have very similar on my Taco, However they are 215/85 r16's

I have them on my Shogun. Fitted the 2nd set last August after the first lasted 44k miles, I could have got a few thousand more out them if I'd rotated them and they still wasn't down to the wear markers when I did swap them over so probably could have got quoted 50K miles out of them. They are a good all-rounder, quiet for an AT tyre like you said and even when worn had a good grip on the road but they do get noisier toward their end. I only changed them early due to an upcoming trip to Scotland where we found lots of rain and mud so glad I had.

Under 50 quid each, delivered! I may have to get/make a tyre machine! Tho no time before the mot..

I have Avon ZT7 195/65 R15 H (91) on my Golf, they were about £70 a corner and seem ok. I bought mine from Blackcircles.

i cant remember exactly, but a quick google says they both are made by Zafco, and also suggests a relationship with michelin and Bridgestone


but taking all that aside, discounting the first 10 miles or so they felt awful before they where scrubbed in (like tyres used to be back in the 2000's) they felt as good as any other tyre on the front of my astra. i like them well enough for a normal road car. i wouldnt fit them to a track car, but then that's not what they are made for...!

also if you want more of a discount, take a look at the autoalex youtube channel. in a few videos he has a promotional code that might still work.

I have Kuhmo portran on my van and they have been great. Good grip wet and dry and surprisingly good on snow.

I put Kumho tyres on my first car but I didnt do a huge distance, the engine siezed before they wore out. They seemed grippy.
Interesting that they are now owned by the Chinese Doublestar.
