why would you want to alter the speed of a mixer any faster and it would fling it out of the drum .slower would be useless

Slower for pouring out. Tends to be a bit "lumpy" when it comes out. I think it's just because the mouth is a little smaller. Ended up borrowing Dad's which is an older bigger one and was far more effective at pouring it out into the barrow.

Faster because then it has multiple uses (I've tried in the past smashing up slates to use on footpaths etc) and it doesn't spin fast enough for that.

Should point out the wee beams from Bob were just to stop people driving over it whilst it goes off. Conveniently two of the short ones reached from wall to wall perfectly. Even found an appropriate bolt to bolt them together, not that anyone is likely to move them at about 450kg a piece.

An half day off.
After 2 weeks being sick but still going to work half an hour earlier and back home later for a total of 50+ hours week and being overwhelmed by other stuff like fixing cars during the weekend etc.
This morning I've got up completely tired so I made a call stayed home.
Had little time for myself and somehow recharged the batteries for tomorrow.
In the morning I've reassembled a Bosch GBH5-38D Wich came in for maintenance a good 3 weeks ago, this had to be done, it was a stress source, then I've had a little rest after lunch sleeping for roughly 4 hours after that got paid for the Bosch.
My friend birthday party and back home few minutes ago .

Two big stacks of logs split. We got these free off gumtree. It took 3 trips with the trailer to get them back here. The lad i got them off was happy to see them gone when this tree came down in the last storm it took out his classic landrover
There are still a load more to split but steady wins the race.

Three of our four sequoias are ill, @8ob reckons root rot because the ground is saturated. We get a fair run off from the road when it rains so step one in preventing them dying off completely (hopefully) is to stop the water coming down the drive.

Killed my Belle mixer in the process. I've heard rumours they have plastic gears now so I may just make it chain drive off the PTO on the compact tractor. Also gets rid of the need for electric...

What goes on down by you there? It's like tree planting frenzy - farmers doing it or sold out and big business moved in?

I've got the Fein MSFA 666 C-S delivered the other day.
I've removed the brush covers to have a look and discovered the faulty armature.
The cause of the malfunction has been a broken ball bearing at the front.
The gears still in good shape.
The rotor is gone, and kinda impossible to find.
I've mistakenly bought an MSFA 666 D BS but deleted as soon as I've discovered it would never work.
It will fit no problems and it would work too actually, you just have to either drill a hole in the rear of the bearing housing to allow the Brake shaft to go through or just chop it off which was my idea actually.
Where's the problem so?
It's not the correct wheel diameter
MSFA 666 C-S is 230mm
MSFA 666 D-BS is 180mm

We got the floor slab poured in the new garage, but I can't claim all of the credit for the work. I prepped the area, measured and marked things up, installed the expansion joint strips by the door sills (I poured the door sills earlier), set up the heater, etc., and then had the pros come in to pour the slab. I should have taken a video of them working the concrete...perfect teamwork and a VERY smooth and flat result, with exactly the right amount of slope.

After the initial set, they cut a couple of shallow contraction grooves, although considering the compacted crushed stone underlayment, extra-thick slab, high-psi concrete, and chopped fiberglass admix, I'm not expecting any cracks, but if it ever happens to develop a crack, it should be confined to a contraction groove, which is what they're for.

For the next 10 days or so I'm keeping the inside of the garage at about 50F (10C) or above, and I'll be spraying the concrete with water several times a day to keep it moist longer for a stronger cure. The next steps will be to build the stairway to the attic storage area, install plywood on the ceiling, and start wiring.

Here's a photo of the slab right after pouring. The color will look much more even after it has cured and dried. Just for scale, the garage doors are each 9'W x 9'H (275 x 275mm).
