Won an ebay auction and got a nice 2009 Lego city construction site 7632 set for 32 euro
Got the pic from the Lego website because the ones on ebay are really poor quality

so after the bulldozer and the dump truck I'll have to build a crawled crane.

Not acquired myself but happened to spot it for a friend who I'm helping rebuild parts of a bobcat 763 he recently acquired for a bargain and thought someone on here might want one of the hydraulic cylinder repair sets as around 4x the price listed elsewhere and the money goes to cancer research so you'd be helping a charity with the purchase.

in all fairness its an impressive bit of kit...fully finctional, controlled from a phone, functions exactly the same as the real thing and will lift a fairly substantial amount considering its made from lego. i can see why its so expensive...its also around a meter tall ive sat in the real thing, although wasnt allowed to operate it as i was only a red card mobile operator at the time, but the sheer scale of it was mind blowing given that i had just got out of my pokey little 60 tonner2 mins earlier

Lego are kinda special.
Yes they're expensive but they have the ability to bring an adult back to his childhood and forget for few hours about all the problems or at least aleaviate some of the stress.

Here's a little pic of my collection, some from my childhood, some others bought as an adult.
They become everyday more expensive too especially collectable ones
Some set in picture are nearly 20 years old already

yes, sometimes its nice to sit on the floor for a few hours and follow the child friendly book of wonders, slowly watching something come to completion. my boy is quite into lego at the moment, but we are getting to the age where he doesnt need my help so much anymore

Handy thing to have, ballache too reverse though. I always struggle with a trailer I can't see in the mirrors.

yes, sometimes its nice to sit on the floor for a few hours and follow the child friendly book of wonders, slowly watching something come to completion. my boy is quite into lego at the moment, but we are getting to the age where he doesnt need my help so much anymore

My nephews are too little yet.
I do sometimes let them play with my sets, loosing parts here and there.
Problem is that my niece is gelouse of her brother, unfortunately he's not 100% ok, he shows autism behaviors we hope he's not but it's hard to accept the truth.
She's 6 and can't understand yet.
He's very lively like an earthquake,he doesn't express himself a lot by words, he started to speak recently at 3 with a lot of difficulties, they end up fighting.
I avoid to give them the chance to argue because of the delicate situation trying to prevent them getting hurt.
Little one doesn't even walk yet.
I'm planning to do a test, I'm thinking about buying one of those AliExpress WALL-E RC clones, build it with them and play together.
I'd really love to make them bound together and Lego might be a good idea

Use two fibre glass rods one with a red taped top , the other with green or yellow tape on the top few inches , fit to strong magnets and align them centrally and vertically on the steel body work . Then its a doddle to see them in the mirror as you reverse , pop them on the side of the trailer horizontally at the front and rear & align them if you cant see then through the vehicle

Mark the trailer body to the best positions so it is a repeatable exercise

My solution to short trailers.

Un-hitch the trailer, wheel it backwards up the dropped kerb, over the bump into your downhill sloping drive . . . realise your trainers are offering no grip on the crap surface, and that the trailer is actually quite heavily loaded . . .slip . . . trailer hitch lands on leg, preventing damage to trailer from contact with floor. Trailer continues to roll down drive, but heading to one side where 1) your new carport leg is concreted in, and 2) your neighbours new 5ft high timber fence (for dogs, the retaining of). Hang on for dear lift in an attempt to stop or at least slow the thing . . . get dragged down drive on your back, ripping shirt to bits . . . but stop the trailer millimetres from fence and car port.

Think "ouch my leg hurts",

Big bump on leg just above knee took months to disappear. Docs said to simply leave it alone. And I make sure I wear my boots, which I always had done until that trip.

Picked up a couple of 50 tray storage boxes for the workshop so I can carry on tidying up all the nuts and bolts and such like. No more fiddling with my small parts :

Which should tidy up the awkward corner and let me get rid of those flat parts box things which I've never got on with. Invariably what I need is in the box on the bottom...

71 trays of assorted nuts, bolts, washers, crimp connectors, fuses, heat shrink, jubilee clips, springs, roll pins, pop rivets, and other stuff later, just need to label the trays and put them in some sort of order:

Haven't any photos of it but the longest trailer I've pulled was a 5 axle Scheuerle beam trailer, 10' 6" wide and stretched open to 30 metres overall length with a 2 axle dolly under the neck and a Cat 745 dumper on the back for good measure.

Took it to Southampton docks for a reasonably secret load for the MOD that was destined for BAE at Barrow in Furness, not much change out of 150 tons, police escort, full-on heavy haulage. Even empty it was still classed as an abnormal load...

My thoughts were occupied with getting out of Darlington before one of the "What day is it??" brigade ran into my van. I can only assume that Kellogs sell plenty of boxes of cornflakes in the North East because that seems to be where the people up there get their driving licences...
