its not illegal and its your own property for private use not a business .dont pander to him. all is the councill will say to him is log the times and dates over a 3 week period and they may investigate and then they come and see you. even then nowt much can be done about itHello.I Have a sand blasting gabinet in my shed with dust extractor.I use a mix of crushed glass beads with a aluminium girt 70 crushed glass and 30 aluminum girt.Can anyone tell me if the blasting at home it is illegal in the uk if I do this on my private property?My next dior neigbour start company about the noise if I do something once in a week for couple hours.He saitld to me it is illegal and he gona inform council about it.Thanks for the coments

He's got a point about actual *sand* blasting, but that's not what you're doing - you're media blasting, using perfectly acceptable materials.

Good for you !....i have 3compressors a twin motor-pump belt driven and a twin 14cfm comp. neither make anything rattle
If it 5m away from the neighbours conservatory I can imagine the noise might be an issue on a hot day with all the doors/windows open etc!...all depends on what your council is like. If they want to stop you doing it they'll basically find a way...best to head it off and be as reasonable as possible I reckon.
