Ive mentioned a few times over the lst few weeks Id bought one for 177 and it does well for what it is ,, paid for its self day one so if it explodes so be it , they have a spares depot and a service set up in Southampton according to the flea bay listings , Josh de Lisle dropped an answer to a question and three years down the line his is going well still ... must lift the case on mine and check the connections , and probably add a sheet of something where the cct board is as standoffs on the case , or a few stick on rubber feet , or the likes .I am still waiting on the Rohr to arrive. It was dispatched on Monday via parcelforce express 24 and the tracking stopped yesterday. Should be here today all being well.
I notice their prices have reverted back to £299 on all platforms so this offer didn't last long.
and an ok torch set up too,,,,
Thought I'd try my new Rohr 200mi on some heavy metal to see what it would do. Its with 0.8 wire, pure CO2. Voltage dial set to 8.5 (goes up to 10), wire speed at 7 - steel is 9mm thick The other photo is 1mm steel. Am quite impressed.View attachment 430184View attachment 430183
Not sure the size, its a standard beer keg bottle. Surprising amount of gas in them. What size of a C02 bottle do you have?
It's interesting to me as I am sure I had pure C02 before also and I had sold that SIP welder with bottle. Then I got my R Tech and Hobbyweld MIG bottle with Argon + 5% Co2 + 2% Oxygen mix.
However, it leaves a brownish tinge on welds, probably the oxygen content. And that was not an issue with C02 that I recall.
I need to buy a second MIG bottle now so would consider C02 unless someone here advises otherwise!
Parcelforce seem brilliant at loosing parcels these days.I am still waiting on the Rohr to arrive. It was dispatched on Monday via parcelforce express 24 and the tracking stopped yesterday. Should be here today all being well.

Just goes to show that maybe for the hobby user, infrequent user, some of these cheaper machines could possibly work out a good buy, we all know its not top end components inside the casing, its very much a case of is £1000 pounds sitting under a bench unused for months really money well spent when £300 is doing okay for the money, lets hope it sees you good long term.I have been using this Rohr MIG some more and what a great welder it is. Very powerful, very smooth. Every bit as good as my R Tech in terms of the welds it lays and ease of use.
Highly recommended especially when it's on offer it's a fantastic welder for the £ can't beat it. I think anyone looking for their first MIG to repair their cars etc should be looking at this Rohr MIG and a rent free Gas Bottle.

Most likely the choice of shielding gas, straight CO2 tends to create more spatter than ar/co2 mix. Those welds look a bit spattery. I think your wire speed was too slow.
Not so long ago my Jasic 250mig I use at work stopped working after a pop and cloud of smoke. I took it round to very helpful electrician round the corner. When we stripped it apart it also had rohr circuit boards fitted inside. It turned out to be a relay had burnt out which he was able to unsolder from the board and replace.Just goes to show that maybe for the hobby user, infrequent user, some of these cheaper machines could possibly work out a good buy, we all know its not top end components inside the casing, its very much a case of is £1000 pounds sitting under a bench unused for months really money well spent when £300 is doing okay for the money, lets hope it sees you good long term.
