Strange, you should have got an email telling you when its about to end, there, you have the option to end it within a certain timeCannot do it online telephone only.
I did. But couldn't get through on the phone. Phone only no way of cancelling onlineStrange, you should have got an email telling you when its about to end, there, you have the option to end it within a certain time
Not in the first 14 days surely? They charge £60 to cancel after the policy starts.
just been through this with the girlfriends insurance,
She canceled the auto renewal 3 months ago after i advised her to do so, she got email confirmation
come renewal time she gets her quote that is £400 more than last year! but thats ok, because she cancelled auto renewal and didnt accept the renewal that they had quoted her for... next letter says that her insurance has been cancelled... then very soon after she gets a letter threatening debt collectors if she doesnt pay them £1500!
It took a lot of time on the phone to sort it all out, they promised written confirmation that it is all sorted and even that took more phonecalls and several weeks,
they didnt seem to know their **** from their elbows!
that shouldnt apply as you have followed the cancelation rules written on the insurance documentYou do realise than for any future insurance quotes, car, house etc. when they ask the question "have you ever had insurance declined or cancelled" you will have to answer yes then a lot of places don't want to insure you
This is a very good description of whats called progress……annoys the hell out of me everytime I have to deal with any if these organisations. Amazes me who they actually stay in business. “Your call is important to us, please hold till you loose the will to live, we are very busy taking other peoples money due to COVID”I have auto renew set up just in case they forget to send a renewal, however I always change insurers every year as it’s the only way to get the best price, also you need to take out new insurance around 3 weeks before renewal in order to get the cheapest price and not a lot of folk know this, a renewal from existing insurers will include a price increase of 30 to 100% in my experience, however it is a pain in the backside cancelling existing insurance, I have 4 cars which is 4 times the hassle, just cancelled 1 last week, 40 minutes on the phone, next time I might try the new customer on the call option list I’m sure that’ll get an answer sooner.
thats exactly what i was most worried about, and the credit rating if the debt collectors were involved, my girlfriend is German though, so has a very good angry voice, and they assured her that everything was sorted in that regardYou do realise than for any future insurance quotes, car, house etc. when they ask the question "have you ever had insurance declined or cancelled" you will have to answer yes then a lot of places don't want to insure you
