any supplier of blast media in Glasgow area?

I'm looking for 25kg bags of SC, Garnet or Aluminium Silicate. Anything but J-Blast!

I know you can order then online but I live in a flat and am hardly ever in and ppl are fed-up getting deliveries to their address for me - especially big items like this

u dont say how many cfm the comp is and what size blast nozzle being used if its a 3mm jet and a 14cfm comp dont expect too much in a hurry

if u cant contain it and reuse get crushed glass its cleaner and probably cheaper than j blast

try getting it here........lol......
I just use kiln dried sand from the builders merchant......
once used a few times I keep some behind for more delicate jobs....
last bought at €12 for 25kgs

Have tried 3 nozzles (3.5, 2.5 & 2.0). Don't know the CFM for both compressors (larger one is 14) but I'm getting plenty air. Blockages are the issue

J-Blast is about the cheapest you can get and I'm not bothered about the price. Want to know if I can buy media anywhere near where I live

Slightly highjacking this thread but related. I use J blast fine iron silicate with particle size 0.7 - 0.2mm. When I first get a new bag, I have to use a really big nozzle tip to get any media out, which is far too big for the amount of air im delivering. I stick a steel plate in there, tape up the trigger and run it until the media size is smaller, normally about an hour. Does anyone know of any suppliers of finer iron silicate? I find it removes rust the best.

The stuff I had best results with was called Olivine iirc and came in a yellow bag with SC on it. I got it years ago from ACE who don't trade anymore. Can't seem to find same stuff but I do see a product called SC (calcium silicate) which is apparently for stone cleaning. That might be it but am thinking if it's for stone it won't be any good on rusted metal

I use iron sillicate (fine) j blast with a 3.5 to 2.5 nozzle (2.5 does tend to block), at approx 70 PSI on a 50l, 14CFM compressor. On a lightly rusted surface like the angle iron it's like airbrushing - probably 5-10s to do that small patch

there rubbish and clog the blast hose just use a strait through blast nozzle and operate the pot from air ball valve on the pot supply line
