About ten years ago i sold a Bantam 2000 to a dealer, (long story it had issues) He told me "I cannot buy enough Colchester Students, Triumphs, Mascots & Harrisons, I sell them all to India & the far east as soon as i can buy them".

uk will end up being the cheap labour and it will revert back here long after h&s have gone and the labour force is desperate for work

Tech college is now housing
Park is now housing
Industrial estate is housing soon
Shipping centre is being demolished for tower blocks . They say good news as 11000 jobs but it will be 11k out of town jobs short term with the loss of area employment and they say cars are evil but now you’ve got To go out of town for food
I’m looking forward to being dead so I don’t have to endure this nonsense

Suppose like everyone they sell to the highest bidder! A scrap ship full of scrap to the far east is fairly common.
One of my neighbours travels to China regularly, he works for a Dutch big engineering and shipbuilding outfit. From his descriptions of China in the industrialised regions they used our old stuff to build very modern efficient industry. Even down to the electric cars and charging infrastructure.
Guess the big difference is the ample supply of cheap non argumentative labour, a government style of just do it, and do it now. Rather than our dilly dather lets try to please everyone culture, which as we know slows progress and spirals cost.
