FFS - just what I needed today.

2CX had trouble starting yesterday, sounded like a flat battery - put it on the charger and confirmed. Let it charge overnight and then put it on this morning. Still slow cranking over but coughed and eventually caught then noticed some oil on the windscreen then saw some dribbling down the exhaust. Killed it on the key.

Quick phone call to the ever useful @8ob who's familiar with these engines and given the engine oil level looked high we think diesel is leaking into the sump from either the IP or lift pump. Well it'll have to wait until after our holiday now. A mate down the road will bring a big digger up so we can lift the loader arms up out of the way - not that easy for access when you have two 1ft wide 40mm thick plates on either side of the engine

Yes will do Initial thoughts are very good! Quality all looks great. I seen other brand amazon mini arc welders having copper bars as fuses in the plug!! This one came with a UK 13 amp fuse as you would expect.

I'll get testing it properly tomorrow and report back

Is it a Perkins engine with a delphi pump?

Perkins 1004.4 I think - no idea on the pump.

Bought it a few years back all functioning (for a farm vehicle even most of the lights worked). Apart from servicing it, replacing starter motor and a few hoses as they've burst it's just worked every day when it's needed to.

The exhaust is leaking where the muffler flange meets the exhaust stack (silly design in my opinion as it's relying on spring compression / alignment to seal) so the air filter's been a bit stifled. Basically relies on a bolt to the cylinder head (which had snapped) and a bracket resting on the rocker cover to keep the alignment.

Bob's initial thoughts were it could be sucking through the breather with the clogged filter. Really should try and fix the exhaust which is what I wanted to do before putting the new filter I have in, but with all the building works going on it's in use pretty much every other day so needs to be done in a manner than can easily be fired up.

Did several 65mm holes in rail track web in a pillar drill!

I remembered you reviewed them in favourable light. Been considering a set for a while, so finally gave in & thought: sod it, why not.

Thats an Arboga, I have the milling machine version & the head is very similar apart from the head tilts from side to side, pop a milling table on there & it should be cabable of light milling. Beautifully built machines.

Pulled from a skip this morning.

Plugging it in, showed why.

It didn't work.

Turn it upside down, remove the wiring plate and look inside. May have a bad capacitor, if so change it. While you are at it, fit a NVR switch.

Thats a good haul.

The JCB saw, check the gear box for the grease, it goes hard and does not lubicate.

The angle grinder are good, we have a few at MIS.

The planer may have double edge blades on. But the Allan bolts can be tight to get undone.

Tired of using wall plugs and searching for wood screws which fit sort of but not really I also got a lifetime supply worth from screwfix which includes the silver screws to go with. All screws were at the bottom of the tub FFS! So had to tip it out and mix em up

I find the jelly beans from Tesco are as good as or better than the higher priced brands.
