It's the latter. Decided to go with that type, as I've spent too much time in the past, for my liking, fannying around with the standard arbor stuff.

Canon A1, as far as I know the most advanced film camera made before they went to ugly plastic bodies, this is all brass.
It's far more feature-rich than my OM10, but it's had a rougher life, it's bigger and heavier, and the shutter sound isn't nearly as nice.

I've finally put a roll of film through both this and the OM10 now, developed at home in the shower darkroom (Not actually a dark room, but it's dark inside the patterson tank).

That's a crappy LED light panel, under a bed sheet and a piece of plastic bag to try to diffuse the light, I took pictures of the frames with my phone camera on 3x mode, then converted to greyscale and inverted in GIMP.
GP3 was shot on the Olympus, the HP5 was in the Canon. Both developed in Hydrofen diluted 39:1

I have a load of negative sleeves you can have if you like. They're donkey's years old - some of the negatives in that folder are dated from the 80's!

They do sort of fit in an A4 ring binder - the hole spacing is the same but the pages are slightly wider. Yours if you want them, FOC

Got 3 of these 12” carver clamps the other day for a decent price (and fairly local!)

All in pretty much “as new” condition.

That would be great if you wouldn't mind. I won't need many, I'll buy myself some next time I order more film and stuff but it would be good to protect what I've done until then.

New phone. I had to wait a couple of hours while the Ford Stealership fitted two speed sensors to the Ranger. So went for a walk into Burnley town centre while they were doing it.

I only went in to sort out my daughter's phones but my Note 8 has been playing up and I get a phone subsidy from work to make sure they can always contact me. So no excuses for having a dodgy phone.

So ended up with the Samsung S23 Ultra. I wanted a decent camera and this certainly delivers but I was sucking my teeth a bit as they are spendy. The sales guy then said, "are you self employed as we offer bigger discounts for business users". "Well", I said, "we do sell eggs at the end of the farm drive". "That's close enough" said the salesman and it came down a bit more

Then I thought, sod it, no pockets in a shroud and I'm 61 next week.

I haven't swapped over to the shiny one yet, I'll do that on the morrow, too busy this evening tiling and collecting the youngest from her school trip to Ypres, Passchendaele and similar. She and most of the rest of her coach had some dodgy food in Belgium and puked all the way back, second load of washing just going in now....

In the 80s in Professional Photographer friend of the family would lead me gear on long term loan. All Cannon. I remember the A1 were expensive bodies.

I got a really good deal, I paid £100 for the body with that 50mm F1.8, a flash (199A speedlite), a Sigma 70-210mm and quite a nice Canon bag.

I've since seen one, just the camera with the same lens in a used camera shop for £250.
