Back in the day.
No high viz.
No hard hat.
No steel tip boots.
But plenty of common sense.

Decent size timber. Last felling job I was on the Sika spruce were averaging 5 ton. Great fun. Did you never bore into the middle of the gob to stop that thick bit of hinge? When I were a lad.

What’s going to happen when someone finds that cotton wool is toxic, or not green ?ever increasing amount of cotton wool to survive.

4 channels!! Don’t come in here with your new fancy ways!!Hmmn... 4 TV channels. Schools didn't look like prisons. Carburettors, hillman hunters, ford cortinas , vauxhall chevettes.
Having Sunday dinner watching to see who would win out of mansell or senna.
Quarter of midget gems.
Computers used a cassette tape!
The majority of window frames were made of wood.
Simpler but happier days.
Had five of them around teenager time!4 channels!! Don’t come in here with your new fancy ways!!
I know this message is 5 years old - but I agree entirely and I'm on your team - furthermore I believe smart phones will become redundant as the "communication chip" will be implanted and wired to your brain at birth.Nobody experiences nostalgia like the current generation.![]()

I wonder what, in 50 or so years, the reminiscing will be about? "I can remember when we had to carry our smartphones around with us instead of getting vital information streamed to our implants" ?
And I'm only half-joking on that, I firmly believe that at some point in the future all newborns will have a microchip implanted in them, which carries their details as are kept now. These will be in a software format which cannot be overwritten and will be visible/readable to scanners installed in public buildings, shopping malls.....in fact everywhere as we know commerce hates to be left out]. It'll be sold to the public as "Public safety/anti-terror measures". Cue 'hidden' pregnancies etc, but the software will detect 'unregistered' citizens and there'll be no end of questioning......
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, just a 'visionary realist'![]()

It was a big thing.
Night/early morning viewing was either open university or a kid with a chalk board.
