i will go with that then if i can find how to rewire it. the Transwave are costly at the minute and dont want to be waiting for months to get one to run the mill. No, if it's 425v star then you can configure it for 240v delta and run it from a cheapo VFD. A much, much better arrangement.
An AT4 VFD works. They are 220 input 380 output. I have one my mill.
if there are 6 wires in the connector block; happy days. if not open it up and look for a bulge or bulges in the outer windings. open the wrap and you will find your 3 pair

Ok, thats out the window. i have found a Transadrive and hope its going cheap, waiting for a reply. 3kw one.The problem with a capacitor is that it's not true 3-phase, it de-rates the already weedy motor, and introduces harmonics in the rotation which can affect surface finish.
@Agroshield That's the same series so the same, bar the supposed power output. It would be fine.
AT1 is 220 single to 220 three phase.
AT2 is 220 single to 220 single phase.
AT3 is 380 three phase to 380 three phase.
AT4 is 220 single to 380 three phase which is the one to have in Wolly's situation.
Manual here to confirm.
Shop around for the AT4. I paid 96 euros in 2020 from an Italian seller on ebay for the 1.5kw version
A 380v one will work OK.
...415v motor and the VFD is 380v.
