Today I acquired...........

Having a chat with me neighbour over the fence today like you do.., he's quite new, only been there 5 years anyway, good bloke ex facility maintenance and been doing a load of work on his patch.
Anyway, starts going on about our rear borders which back onto a fairly large pathway with a downsloping embankment behind our fences.

Long one short, says our fences are 10ft back from where they should be because of the incline down to the pathway - we own that 10ft beyond the back fence he says!
Checked the land registry transfer deeds and he's bloody right! so today I acquired 300sq feet

Made the mistake of telling the Mrs, seems to be calculating some back breaking plans....should have kept me gob shut, its a bloody jungle on the other side

Build a massive workshop on stilts! If it's high enough you can have a storage area underneath it for wood burner logs for the power cuts in winter plus space for 'projects'

I'm trying to convince the other half that the 70ft + ash tree in there is a "feature" but I like your thinking and that could provide a lot of buring
There is all sorts of trees and bushes behind that fence and the incline is about 6 ft drop over the 10 ft width

It also doesn't help that I have launched all manner of garden crud over the years which I will need to take back

Oh well, nice problem to have, slowly slowly catchy monkey - I could keep some in that lot mind!

Think it's the Porkert that mum had ? I remember it had several discs with different size holes. It also had an attachment for making sausages . Think it might still be at her house.

Have to find a sausage attachment (and a third hand to use it ).

They're great. My mum had one for years, worked a treat. Don't know what happened to it. We got a modern version of the same thing but it's not a patch on mum's one.

Yep. We had one similar at home and then we got a fitted kitchen, so there was nowhere for the thumbscrew to clamp. Went sophisticated and got one with a suction base. I inherited that, but it no longer sticks.

That Ash will be dead soon unless it's miraculously immune to die back. Most of ours on the farm (must be hundreds of 50-hundreds of year old trees) are affected by it.

I've never seen it so bare as this year, so it might be. Although they drop late there's not much on it compared to previous years, so likely.
The eucalyptus to the right has to go as well.

Taken out a rowan and a nice apple so far, makes me sad. That @8ob is a serial murderer,

An elderly gentleman nearby found some tools while clearing out and was very happy about my appreciation (also in €).

I was pleasantly surprised by the good condition of the handles. And the way the handle's end sleeves are made (I don't even know the right word in my language) is interesting, completely unusual today.

I answer with a joke that the Dutch tell each other about Germans:

Amazons.. graphite cruicble and cheap cga600>en417adaptor.

Cruicible slightly too big for my induction heaters medium coil but that can be adjusted, if it works - still unsure on this one. If not, it'll fit nicely in the furnace. I have ordered another, the last one


Adaptor seems well made, though my GoSystem torch has a nut that fouls, nut easily removed which works. The gas control is very sensitive on the torch, I turned it down for photo!

Tried to look up the origin of the word. OED needs a login, and I couldn't be ar3d finding a library card, but Dictionary.com seems to think it comes from virioka "small bracelet", which at least is logical
