Do not tempt me, you know i am crazy enough to drag it up thereInsane .
We’ve got a lovely long airstrip here, just been fully resurfaced. I’ll supply the tea n biscuits
There’s a go cart track there too, show the guys a real cart!Do not tempt me, you know i am crazy enough to drag it up there
Starting to take shape. Are you going to fit the oil cooler high up at the back or low down at the front?
Was thinking about hanging it off some kind of roll bar above the motor/my headStarting to take shape. Are you going to fit the oil cooler high up at the back or low down at the front?
I have put enough weld into the tops to hold it from moving when i do the bottoms...i will keep doing diagonal pieces to keep the heat out..Nice. Best hope it doesn't all move when you remove the motor to invert it for the awkward welds.
is it an optical illusion or is the motor sitting quite high?
How dare you post anything welding related.Ok had a few hours this afternoon and the motor sits on its own mountings (top mount to do yet). The bolts, washers and spacers are just a temp fix to hold it, and as a bonus some welding pics.. Cant fully weld the mounts till the motor is back out and i can turn the cart upside down but that's a long road yet as i want to fab every single last bracket so i don't ruin the paint once its done with a forgotten bracket or tab.

Flip the exhaust like thisI have put enough weld into the tops to hold it from moving when i do the bottoms...i will keep doing diagonal pieces to keep the heat out..
Yea it does seem high from the angle of attack for pics, even i thought that but its at the limit to allow exhaust down pipes and collector to clear frame and if you look close it has the gold colour sump which is the limiting factor..once its built and on the ground it will all fall into perspective
Motor is low enough, sump is not much higher than lowest chassis rails plus i want the 4 into 1 sound
It was your build that got me motivated to start mine..I thank ya
I've not made much progress lately actually. My old man died last month so dealing with all that, the funeral, sorting the house out to sell etc. Hopefuly a cash injection will come my way soon and the craziness will resume. It was your build that got me motivated to start mine..I thank ya
Sorry to hear about your old man buddy..With regards to a cash injection, these little projects can soon eat into the play money each month..I've not made much progress lately actually.
