I believe there is a way to disable the electronic suspension but would need a dealer to do it.

I like mine, automaticaly adjusts when wifes on pillion or when I load up panniers, couple of clicks changes it from Auto to Soft for when I want more comfort. No more faffing about with C spanners...... its the future

Got a pair of 48DHLA carbs to rebuild so hopefully this will help, 10L capacity so should be ideal if it works!

Can you post some before-and-afters please, once you've got it going? I have similar things (well, identical things) that need to be cleaned, and I'm considering how to approach the job.

I've checked and checked but please, if any of you know for certain that this is cat food (or any other "not suitable for human consumption" product) please shout before I get the crackers out.

i got some simlar glass pots in the cupboard! melba toast would be great with that but I am a heaven so reglar toast it is!

they wear out and dont sharpen anymore. I got loads of worn out ones they make good pokers

Interesting. I've got an old one that's polished smooth, I prefer it to mum's one (Of a similar age and quality) thats pretty much never been used, hers "grabs" the blade a lot more and feels like its got to be doing more harm than good.

knife metal became harder and er maybe more hygenic

the steels may have stayed the same but I expect they became softer then there are diamond steels these wear out so quickly with cheap modern hard steel knifes!

old and smooth probably would not even tickle a newer knife edge, my old knifes were carbon steel so easy to keep sharp

Not as smooth as I remembered actually.



Hard to photograph, it's smoother than the Sabatier but not quite polished yet. Does a nice job keeping my Global knives sharp, they get regularly wetstoned too though so I'm not asking a lot of the steel.

The other reason I prefer it is it's big and says Dick on it. Who doesn't want a big Dick?

sabatier on the right rith the rivits I used to have one of those back in the day, global knifes are great to keep sharp actually, I have one that has lost its way after 15 years!

Spent a few bob over the last few days that's the shed project funds depleted for a bit..

Nice big TEC motor, & Parker AC10 inverter both from Inverter Supermarket who had best prices I could find - is there a supermarket for everything?
Unfortunately one of the mounts has been broken in delivery which I feared when I saw the box damage, so that will have to go back Also 80/100/120 pulley from Bearing Boys.

Big thanks to a mutual friend who is advising greatly on this

And boring but necessary upgrade to my shonky old steps, got a lot of decorating on so thought I would treat the Mrs, might even put a bow on it
