I’m looking at that there’s a good job going in Glasgow for a field service engineer for a marine and power generation engine supplier.
It wasn’t aggreko though I’m going to give them a try. It was for a different company that I have not personally heard of before. But it wasn’t you big wartzila or man boys.Did you see what company that was for , I guessed maybe could have been aggreko at dumbarton

This is a Full Time job
location: Gisborne
I will take any job offered me in the sense beggars can’t be choosers. And I fully agree better too keep and look busy than sit around waiting. My ex annoyed me greatly with the attitude of people should only ever do their dream job. I was always brought up that go go out and collect bins if it’s the only job going as it’s better to have something than nothing.Never be afraid of taking something even if its only filling in until you can find something better. Its always better to explain at interview that you took a step down or sideways because you wanted to keep busy (and eat!) and it also demonstrates a good attitude better than those who sit and wait for the "perfect" job opportunity to present itself. Good luck!
Never been in a situation like this before so any advice?
Yes that’s quite common for people to have tickets way above the position they actually hold it can be difficult too get promoted sometime. Oddly enough my great uncle did that on leaving the merchant for the nhs.My mate moved from the Merchant marine, I can't remember what level of engineer he was 1st or 2nd , but working as a 5th ( does that make sense?). He moved into Estates management , initially in the NHS , latter at a University. Never looked back
Relish the challenge. onwards and upwards

I’ve been there! It is upsetting but keep in mind it is a whole set of new opportunities it is so much harder to job hunt when down. Also consider getting a CV professionally written it has made a big difference for me. I used the following every CV review / comments have said it could not be improved.
