Hi Robbie, sorry to hear this buddy. My employer is usually looking for Engineers, drop me a PM and I will see if there is any opertunities at the moment.I will take any job offered me in the sense beggars can’t be choosers. And I fully agree better too keep and look busy than sit around waiting. My ex annoyed me greatly with the attitude of people should only ever do their dream job. I was always brought up that go go out and collect bins if it’s the only job going as it’s better to have something than nothing.
I don't know about up near you but down here in South West Wales people are desperate for hard working people. There's a few firms that have been looking and whilst they'd like someone to be able to jump in they're more than willing to provide training.
An example was the chap who buys all our adjustable electric power steering modules. He took on a carpenter and trained him in machining and welding and he helped Roger out with building a mezzanine floor in the workshop.
I spent 6 years in the dairy industry - learnt a heck of a lot - how to be a jack of all trades....We live in bizarre times, a lot a of business is in trauma but there are places that are crying out for good staff and are prepared to pay.
My youngest is studying engineering at college and my wife took him to an apprentice evening at a local food processing plant. Whilst it may not be to everyones taste maintenance engineers get paid pretty well, from the chart they saw £40K plus shift uplift.
Another friend of ours is a dentist and they have had an open vacancy for over a year and are prepared to adjust the role to suit. I would have thought with everything that's happened in recent years that they would have found someone who wanted to move from a big city to a rural area.
yup very local to me those, new frigate contract mech fitters would be in demand however they arent quite started at full capacity yet I know a few fitters down there.@Robbie260 They've been having a big recruitment push in the Fife dockyards, having won several MoD contracts... Babcock if I recall.
I heard @8ob was looking for someone?
That's ambitious 10h...
Not so sure grovelling around under trucks, plant and machinery would be up your street Robbie
You can't be the only person that loves it!
I prefer that to being stuck in the office.
I'm well up for getting birds stoned, if that's a paying job.Maybe Robbie wants an office job for a change. Sorted.
Get 2 birds stoned at once. I think that's how the saying goes.
You can put him up in the dogging caravan
