Has your new sensor not come with the housing then?

I've never needed to remove those screws as the new sensors always came with the housing as they're "calibrated" to the housing's bore/cross section. (Although people do swap housings on modified cars and such when remapping.)

I suppose you might remove the screws for easier claning of the MAF but that's generally in vain anyway.

They're an obscure tool for sure. I bought mine to "be prepared" but i got that wrong.

It did come with the housing, I just figured it was easier to remove those two screws than disturb the air filter and so on. Probably nothing in it. I did try cleaning it when the car was playing up last year, but it wasn't much of a help.

I have acquired a milling extension for the small Myford ....
.... not from Rodney and also not from Amolco, but from Arboga ...
... also strictly speaking it is not an extension and it is not on the Myford, but a separate unit next to it.



The actual acquisition and removal I had already shown here.
Some things had to be rearranged in the house, now we finally got to build her up and put her into operation:

With the column one could think, it is only a "hollow round tube, why not just lift it up and into it" or also "what is this thin thing supposed to withstand?".
Well, the weight and strength is inside (sorry, no better photo).
This fat flat steel is welded into the tube over the entire length and forms the mount for the rack of the Z-axis on one side:

On the Arboga U2508, the head houses both the eight-speed gearbox and the 1hp motor, which makes it the heaviest and at the same time most delicate chunk.

Of course, we still have to hang additional lighting and we already have it in the house.

So off to the next adventure.

Great, a source of practical experience - now you've got yourself into something ...

Yes, that would be the usual way, but you would have to be a giant to be able to tighten it on the top and because of the construction of the head

with the gearbox above and the motor next to it, it didn't work.

That's why Arboga had to go the special route and

secure the tool for milling operations in the cone with the thread (15) and the retaining nuts (17 or 27) with the aid of the retaining washers (16 or 25 or 26).

For drilling operations, the holding force of the MT3 is perfectly adequate even without further measures.

If you buy the proprietary stuff from Arboga, you will immediately notice how immensely proud they are of their products; as a hobbyist, you will resort to building it yourself.

At the same time, this principle also makes it possible to make elegant use of the world of very inexpensive MT2 tools, as this very short video shows.

This also short video shows how to build this adapter.

Since I have received enough proprietary holders for the beginning with the machine, I am now getting to know her - I am looking forward to it tremendously.
