Dug a hole today and had a play with my die filer. Just a small bracket to weld on the top of a new scaffold pole as a hanger for a pulley wheel. Its part of the support for my idea of raising up an outdoor washing line in the back garden.

Sunday, the following day, I finished the sliding line support; and then a short while later fell backwards off of my A-framed ladder set up when one of the legs sunk into the grass, and ended up braking several ribs when I landed on the corner of a random breeze block I hadn't cleared away from the area. So, now I'll be having a few weeks of leisure time to chill out and keep track of what's happening on the forum.

Not quite as posh as AVI_8's setup but his post gave me the round tuit to sort out my workshop sound system.




Speakers are Q Acoustics ceiling speakers I've had kicking around for ages, they sounded like crap when I found them so I didn't bother doing anything with them, didn't occur to me that all speakers sound like crap when they're not in an enclosure/baffle. I chewed a couple of holes in some MDF with a multitool and they actually sound quite good. Not amazing but better than the Google Nest Mini I have been using.





Got them wired into an old Sony amp, fed from an Echo Dot. The Echo is controlled by Spotify Connect so I've got the microphone turned off, it's just working as a network streamer. Ideally I'd use a Hifiberry amp and a Raspberry Pi, but there's no such thing these days.


They were a nightmare to wrestle up between the rafters, I should really climb up and have a clearout, there's all sorts of shish precariously balanced up there, I nearly dropped the Geiger counter I forgot I had!

Finished making half a door frame. Had some help from my dad. I was donated a couple of half glazed doors but were just a bit too narrow to fill gap between lounge and dining room.

If FTFY means Fix That For You, then thanks , but I've already been contacted by a pellet wielding mercenary acquaintance who suggested I stay safely away from the scene until it can established if its a mole, rabbit, or hedgehog responsible for undermining the ladder.

Almost finished the lorry tailboard. Apart from a few small bits it's done. Locking bar and bracket next then fit the blasted thing.

Made a rustic gate out of scrap wood. Very satisfying for some reason... Perhaps it was the £80 I saved!

I made some T nuts for the pillar drill out of an old knackered indexable lathe tool and finished off the last of the wear pads for my hiab.

The pin, the dogbones pivot on, on the rear suspension of my KTM 640 Enduro was very worn, and is only available on back order ?
None second hand on eBay either.
The needle roller bearings are 18 x 24 x16.
But, 17 x 24 x 20 bearings are available.
So I put the Myford back together, and set about machining the pin to 16.90mm
17 x 24 x 5 double lip seals are on order.
Overall I am happy with the result.

Yesterday I was working on a 737 fuselage (Death to all 737s!) that we chopped up to make into a temporary 'Diner' for a Stately Home. I had to trim down the Lav door from a 747 to fit the hole in a 737 bog unit. Strange smell from the wood/alloy door as I was cutting it. I hope everyone else had a more enjoyable day at work than me!
