Dug a hole today and had a play with my die filer. Just a small bracket to weld on the top of a new scaffold pole as a hanger for a pulley wheel. Its part of the support for my idea of raising up an outdoor washing line in the back garden.

Only need to make 44od 35mm long rollers, mold is 80mm long so should be able to get 2 out of each slug

Started turning the first one cast, so far minimal porosity and cuts beautifully.

Made a tractor weight, currently only have about 400kg of steel weights which aren't enough for the combi drill. This should be somewhere around 550-600kg with a longer load centre, with a shallow tray left on top for collecting stones.
Used some offcuts up, anyway!

Attempted to fit bench grinder wheels. I couldnt dress them true - getting vibration against the dressing tool. Tried single point diamond and a blade segment. I marked them up red marker, expecting a big red low spot. No, red high spot.
Unsure if the wheels are moving around under the card circles/plates, hard spot on the wheels or just doing it wrong...

Started sieving lots of sand. 13kg doesnt take long when its dry. It seems 2/3rds is finer than 80 mesh and 1/3rd coarser than 60. Not very much being caught between 60 and 80.

At last I've nearly finished fitting the DRO to my Boxford.
The read head mounting uses the TTA bracket so that when I refit it I don't have to faff around trying to align it.

I've yet to finish the TTA DRO system, although that's well on the way having been started nearly a year ago

I took some 75x10mm bar, 4 M14 spacers, 4 nuts and some 8.8 threaded rod. Drilled 5 holes (One in the wrong place, i welded it back up and redrilled it.) some welding and a little cutting and made this:



Which is highly obscure and serves one very specific purpose for one single job.

I should clean them up and paint them.
