Poor welding on "Quality" axle stands

I just bought two expensive axle stands not made in China. When I opened them I found there was welding which I would not call acceptable for the price (or really at all). The manufacturer agrees it is a poor weld job however I bought them online so returning them to the supplier may not be easy.

I'd be tempted to grind and re-weld that, depending on how hard it is to return for an exchange item...

Can't the manufacturer replace them, that where they are going to end up away???

At $200 AUD each for a 2t stand I would expect them to be almost perfect. This is the only welding on the stands as the rest is cast or machined.

Not if the load was inadvertently put on one end of the axle rest, as does happen.

No way Jack my spider scenes would be twisting my melons man. I just couldn't cope looking at them every time I was using them.

It seemed like almost the only non made in China stands available here (Australia) so I thought it was my only option. I am almost never happy with the cheap rubbish stuff I have bought so I have been buying non made in China/Taiwan stuff. It seems I still get faulty stuff, even my Koken ratchets slip.

I think I might try to get a refund, They look neat but are clearly not the quality I expect or want.
