Intrigued by the Top Tier Gasoline program (sic) in the US, I sent a few queries off to major European brands, as I simply wanted to know which brands were cleaner burning and might do my injuns no harm.Oddly Mr Google is struggling to find complete specifications of the Super grades from any of those three suppliers, beyond compliance with EN 228.
From what i understand (Read in several forums), Asda import the fuel from Russia, and can contain some chemicals that you don't want to burn in engine. but that may have changed now. I am going back a few years.I'm been using it for years and the car runs fine on it?![]()

Explanation? Rated by whom? Link?
The additive packs aren't that different and the base fuel comes from the same primary terminal in each area.
Or are you basing that on the housekeeping variations in your area?

Tesco provides the most useful statement, supporting my statement above:
All fuel sold in the UK must conform to the same British Standards. For reference, they are BS EN 228:2012 for Unleaded and BS EN 590: 2013 for diesel. With base fuel the same standard across the country, the difference between retailers then comes down to the additives that are blended into the base fuels before going into tankers and off to the forecourt. We can’t comment on other retailers but can tell you that we blend additives into all of our fuels: Tesco Unleaded, Tesco Diesel and Tesco Momentum99.

, there were some long discussions on piston heads as well.
Probably out dated now.
its only the additives that make the difference. same with engine oil.
Google Top Tier Gasoline and you'll find some interesting stuff about it.
How did she get up there in the first place ?The starlings would fall off the telephone wires
True enough if you are buying FULLY Synthetic at many pennies per teaspoonful or really cheap old school unbranded 'traditional' stuff at tuppence threefarthing a gallon.
Not so if you are buying SEMI Synthetic.
A long, pointless briefing on the games Exxon's lawyers engaged in over that term would bore even me!
From what I understand it is similar to petrol and its only the additives that make it fully synthetic? and the base oil comes from the same oil refineries.
This may well go over a few heads! How did she get up there in the first place ?

I'm buying Fully synth from Germany, as German law gets quite literal on what it is.
In the rest of Europe and the US, severely hydro-treated mineral oil can be sold as synthetic (note, not semi). This leads people to believe they're getting the good stuff, but it ain't necessarily so. Anyway, I'd quite happily put Shell Helix Ultra in my bike, as the gas-to-liquid process knocks out some good gear that for all intents and purposes seems to me to be just as good as the real thing for the uses I'll put it to. I'm not running jet turbines on it.
Found myself going down the rabbit hole years ago, after a workmate put starship mileage on every bike he owned, but he had a cheap source of Mobil 1.Ah! another oil boiler? Or just well informed?
Still plenty around in different flavours now.Can you get mobil1 now?
Used to be the oil of choice when I raced a mini. Unforgetful waft and related smoke when the turbo induced detonation turned a piston into alloy ball bearings..
A friends Evo 9 FQ360,I am a Jag fan, have been for years, had a few including a couple XF's. Last one was a 2015, 3.0d V6 sport. Cracking car except this one had some history, not sure what had happened to it but laquer flaking off in large sections, wheel bearing issues and more, it was less than 3ys old at the time, still under warranty. Jaguar UK refused to pay for paint and said it was "normal"... not impressed
Aluminium body so no problems with rust....... went for its 1st MOT, got an advisory on excessive corrosion on the rear subframe...... traded it in...... cant see me buying a modern Jag again
