I used to change the oil in my 12 every 1500 miles,
Rock Oil for the first few years,
Silkolene there after,
10w40 semi
With oem filter

I've seen the cheap supermarket fuel is rubbish argument many, many times but never any actual studies or data
I use Morrisons because it's close, I used Asda when that was close
In everything from a TD5 to a highly strung, throttle bodies 4 pot with a 9k rev limit, on whatever fuel was closest or cheapest, never had an issue

Our nearest fuel is 14 miles away, kinda restricts choice.
Given where you live, is it a price worth paying?
Having said that, in few months it will be a non issue for me, I will be going electric.....

Oil wise ive only ever used the Vauxhall trade club 10/40 semi synthetic in most of mine, cant be that bad as I put nearly 400,000 miles on a 3ltr 24V petrol engine
Fuel wise as were out in the sticks and have to travel to get any fuel so you cant be too fussy!

Long story short, I had one for a day as a courtesy car from my local Jag dealer when my X Type went in for a routine service. It had 1700 miles on the clock and a full tank of fuel and as I was about to drive off, the sales Manager whispered to me 'try not to have to put any more fuel in it'.Very nice choice.
I love Jags.
Sadly most people would rather help the German economy rather than the British one

Oh, I hasten to add, I didn't put any more fuel in it, but the low fuel warning light had been on for a while by the time I dropped it back off!

I have to be honest as a day to day car the 3L twin turbo diesel made more sense. Still pretty quick and more refined - the V8 gives you a headache on a long journey.

loving this car after a weeks ownership
i’m finding any excuse to drive it
forgot to mention too that this is my first ever auto car, it’s strange. i feel like i’m going to stall the car whenever i get to a sharp bend or a junction! it’s a god send in traffic though. it’s really not that bad

They are but manuals are still a tad better on fuel.Modern auto box's are very good now, especially if you have a proper engine in it i.e. over 3.0L. why drive a manual
I have driven several identical models with both kinds of gearbox. On some older cars there can be a 5mpg difference. On newer cars perhaps only 2 to 3mpg. But that still adds up.
I like both. On a sporty car still prefer a manual but getting hard to find with bigger engines.
