Totally agree.Expect to be changing a lot of the suspension bushes, they are a fast wear item on these heavy jags. Don't fall into the trap of going all poly. I did and ended up changing back to rubber metalastic after they started to fail one by one.
Hah, I did exactly that with my first Scim. Made a helluva difference and wasn't obnoxious.nice! I shall be doing something similar to mine with a silencer delete
cheers for the advice, will look into doing that soonish!Totally agree.
Poly IMHO maybe good for a lightweight car but in my experience, when I fitted them to a 5 series BMW they lasted less than a year before there was excess suspension movement in them.
I tend to change suspension components such as bushes all in one go if the car is a keeper, start at the front, change all of them then do the rear.
When you just do one at a time as they wear you just seem to be under the car with the wheels off getting dirty every month as they get worn out one by one.
Not worth the hassle, plus you can almost guarantee that when the work needs done it’s January, ******* with rain and freezing cold.
Enjoy your car and the sound of that V8
glad to hear it! I don't want it too loud but that V8 has to singHah, I did exactly that with my first Scim. Made a helluva difference and wasn't obnoxious.
No need for any additional music you have a veeeeeeate. Open the windows and enjoy the ozone depleting sounds from the burning dinosaurs juice.I was just looking at that but would need some way of keeping the ipod charged...
ah, a different type of banging tune then?I had some of those titles
But they were Sweedish porn on BETA.

Absolutely in love with this car, the V8 sounds amazing and the power is simply lovely. I’ve gone from a 1.9 306 diesel so the creature comforts are a big bonus too such as cup holders, cruise control, working electrics etc
Puts a smile on my face every time i drive iteven more so considering it cost me £3,900 with 59k on the clock and FSH
First job will be to get the auto box serviced and sort out the knock when turning right at slow speeds (suspension bush?)
and then a silencer delete
It averages about 20mpg, so it’s a good job fuel is nice and cheap![]()
Always liked thoseThis beast popped up on my facebook memories . 4.6 litre mustang engined rover 75 with sleeved x power rear boxes. Was fun . I was saving up to supercharge it but parts availabilty dried up before I had the funds

I've had a couple of Jags (an X Type that I did over 240k in and my current XE) and am a big fan of them.
The S Type V8 is quite a machine and much more reliable than some may have you believe![]()
bloody hell quite an impressive car history, i’m guessing the case with V8s is once you have one you can’t go back?I love V8's had a few now

nice one, that’s quite a line up!After 3 years I still yearn for my old X358 SV8. Even SWMBO now admits the puny little X260 wasn't worth the downgrade - and she was the one pressing for downsizing.
Can't comment on reliability. I passed it on to the youngest at c. 225k miles. He sold it recently at just over 250k miles. So it didn't see enough use for any wear and tear items to emerge on the powertrain.
Previous owners did suspension bushes at c.90k and 162k according to the service records. I only needed to replace offside lower wishbone bushes.
Two modules failed to proceed - the Driver's Door Module and the one controlling fans.
Total non-routine serving over 5 years and 50k miles was c.£600
It replaced a series of 2 X200's each taken to c.125k. But they were puny little 3litre V6 runabouts.
Grace, Space and Pace - enjoy. (although the latter is absent in the rear of the X200's)

Couldn't resist this one. My SV8, middle son's Daimler SV8 and Best Man's nasp V8: (carefully cropped to avoid the father of the Groom's white BMW!) View attachment 335663
nice one, that’s quite a line up!
Sounds like your bringing them up rightUnfortunately, I never got a photograph of the brief period when the family fleet comprised my X358, No 1 son's nasp X308 and No 2 son's Daimler and its replacement X150 XKR. At that point, poor No 3 son had to make do with a Lexus LS430 as he was too young to afford insurance on a Jaguar.
I liked the earlier auto gear selector on yours more than the twisty knob on my xf. Still find myself accidentally selecting reverse sometimes...just booked the jag in for dinitrol chassis treatment and any rust removal
also here’s some interior pics, such a nice place to be!
