Does it have double wishbones on the front? I had knocking issues with my xf and it was those upper wishbones.Would anyone know what the knock could be when sharply turning right at low speeds could be? I'm thinking some sort of bushing?
Yea the one they fitted in the 8 series beemer too....they done the 840 and an 850 with the V12 motorYou might be thinking about the 4.4 BMW M62 which was fitted to early L322 Range Rovers. Was replaced by the Jag 4.2 Supercharged in later L322 and the bored out 4.4 Jag AJV8 in Discovery 3.
not sure, i'll have a gander when i get it up on a ramp for the under coatDoes it have double wishbones on the front? I had knocking issues with my xf and it was those upper wishbones.
nice! I shall be doing something similar to mine with a silencer deleteAwesome!
I had an XF with the 4.2 v8 and i made a cat back exhaust system straight through, with X pipe etc... Sounded absolutely incredible. Loved that car, and a few cars later i got back into an xf, now an xfs v6 diesel for better economy lol
I made that v8 do very nearly 40mpg on the trip computer one trip from Carlisle to York, still not sure how!
You will not regret it (much)because why not? i had 4k budgeted for a reliable quick car and this came up best

Absolutely in love with this car, the V8 sounds amazing and the power is simply lovely. I’ve gone from a 1.9 306 diesel so the creature comforts are a big bonus too such as cup holders, cruise control, working electrics etc
Puts a smile on my face every time i drive iteven more so considering it cost me £3,900 with 59k on the clock and FSH
First job will be to get the auto box serviced and sort out the knock when turning right at slow speeds (suspension bush?)
and then a silencer delete
It averages about 20mpg, so it’s a good job fuel is nice and cheap![]()
Do it in styleVery nice buy that jag..enjoy it while you can as a few more years these big engine old cars will be planters in the garden. Same reason i am smoking about in the wife's big old S500 Merc while i can

Nice one, clubland 4 and 10 I hopeyeah, the rear ones don't look like they've ever been sat in either. I'll get some pics of the inside, it's a proper nice place to be.
yeah 10 disc CD changer in the boot, had to dust off my CDs, clubland sounds grand with the jag sound system![]()
aye clubland 10 is in there! The live disc is one of my favourites. Also got some of the xtreme hardcore albums loadedNice one, clubland 4 and 10 I hope
ah nice one that'd be class as my setup in the 306 was roughly 500 clubland songs playing off an ipod via USB...Shame from that era it's highly unlikely to be able to read MP3's. The one in my Mondeo did and once I worked out the intricacies of exactly how it wanted the disk layout, it meant rather than have 60+ tracks I had about 600+ (and then I replaced it for an android head unit that plays off internal memory/flash).
I have also seen units that replace the factory CD changer with an ipod connector (other mp3 players are available) as well, unsure if available for the Jaaaaaaaaaaaag unit but might be worthy of consideration.
I was just looking at that but would need some way of keeping the ipod charged...
