I bought my daughter a Mac when we lived in the Philippines. Its probably 9 years old now, as well. 3 years ago it had some issue and I went to the Apple shop in Brum, asked about getting it fixed, and the nice man told me it should have had the factory recall new screen fitted. He sent it away and it had a new main board, keyboard, screen, top cover and battery. I had to pay £150 for the battery, but we basically got a new Mac back off them.I fixed my MacBook. It’s 9y old I think now, the battery swelled so much it deformed the case and I couldn’t close my laptop. So I ordered new battery and keyboard because the caps lock key stopped working.
I bought her a new one 18 months ago and it has recently developed the flickering light bar disease, so I shall probably take that to Brim and ask them to fix it, for free.
