Weston Standard Cells have a pretty infinite life.
When I was a young teen I rescued four from Cox & Danks scrap yard. They took the stuff from the Britannia Iron Works in Bedford. The lab technician at school mounted them up in nice boxes and for years afterwards they were used as part of the Wheatstone Bridge demonstrations.
/grumpy mode on. Those were the days when children were taught proper hands on science by masters who dressed in suits so the teachers could be distinguished from the pupils, and they kept order so all the class had a chance to learn not just the disruptive one. /grumpy mode off.

It is a tilley. I have a few of each.
This one is being a pig, in all aspects./ But it will live again.
What I have found out it is a Tilley, the design and build confirms this. the Government stock number is from Civil defence and/or emergency oversea aid.
But it is a mix of all sorts of parts.
Warming up after a rebuild, new seals etc..
Then all of a sudden tank to valve seal let go.
A quick blow with CO2 had it out, coffee to let it cool and another strip.

I located a pigeon hole/shelving rack today it does need some dividers for the shelves, but I have a pattern so the plasma will get some use this week. Approx 7ft tall and 3ft wide so plenty of space.
Sorry no drawers.....
I also stumbled across a medium size paperweight for the workshop, although this will need to be introduced to the milling machine to sort the top out.
So another couple of projects to add to the "To Do List"....

That is a MOD pattern one. There are hundreds here. Have you ever had a Tilley spotlamp? I found a completely unused pristine one on a demolition site must have been 1940's vintage. Never been fired it even had the paper tissue packing between the front glasses. Sold it on eBay to an Aussie guy who is a member of the lamplighter's guild of Australia he has it as the pride of his collection.

Thanks 60m would be fantastic to keep the vehicles off my premises . I take it they'll want an IBC or bigger supply of wash out water at the end of the job and somewhere to flush it into.

Interestingly, there's the same model number on Banggood for £36 but it has no amperage display meter. I've very close to hitting but as just back from the pub and happy.

Use one of the small capacitance switches where you just touch the metal body , the capacitance between you and the lamp body changes so it switches on , touch it again and it goes brighter till after three or four touches it goes out ready for the next cycle .
This one is on ebay for £38.87 or make an offer. I offered £35 and got it for £36. I will give it a try today, it feels so light there's probably nothing inside the case.
