These, this is the second trailer they have had made , lessons were learned from the first one so wider with bigger wheels is better.

This is the one I am currently altering, note the small wheels that are under the boat, they will soon be bigger wheels outboard of the hull.

You mean of wider with bigger wheels?
If so then it needs to be wider so the wheels can be outside the hull and keep the trailer lower for sailing the boats onto.
Reason for the bigger wheels is they work better in the sand and over the rocks.

On a MUCH smaller scale, just thinking of fabbing up a trolley for 20ft sailing boat I have been gifted I have some fat wheels, be good for sand..

Stainless way more expensive but lasts forever and if any modifications are done down the line you have no worries about bare steel being exposed as you would with galvanised.

Last couple of months its been breakfast, lunch, and dinner box. We keep threatening to mount a gas cooker into one of the boxes, slightly more controllable than the manifold.

Made this battery holder for a optima battery to be used as a leisure battery in my brother's van and have it hooked up to the main van battery via voltage sensing unit so no matter how many lights are left on they will cut out when the voltage gets lower so it should leave enough juice in the main battery to start up the van.

Bit of a jump in photos but painted up in Hammerite as well as two studs welded on so the battery can be held secure.

As you can see the angles in the holder fit up against the floor under the sea. Little red light to indicate charging that can be seen when the seat is on. Relay is triggered by the voltage sensing unit and all the outputs are fused to the small fusebox that can be accessed without removing the seat. Little breather pipes that is routed out the bottom of the van to safely discharge the charging and discharging gasses.

Supply took to main battery via fused connection at both ends in case of any short circuit

Good evening gents, my contribution. Have been playing around a bit and had a job to build some bits for a newish prawn trawler arriving soon to my neck of the woods. Engineers have produced some drawings, so i have produced some bits.

That's a 1200mm by 2400mm by 20mm plate 350lo grade

Very pleased with the cut 125amps 980mm/min. Can't say too much as the plasma table may hear me and stuff up

Also had to construct some sliding arms for the trawl gallows. These hold the trawl wires that go the to trawl boards. They are 304 S/S 150SHS by 8mm

They were drilled for m10 and tapped. Then the LFX nylon sliding strips added with brass screws

Started with the first of a new product yesterday, D2 tool steel again and I used the wrong grade of cutter. Probably because the machine has developed a fault (overnight) so I am finally forced to move to the new controller whether I like it or not.




My real problem is I just cannot seem to shake the cold I picked up, it is really wearing me out now :-(

Re that cold that's hanging on go see your doc ...mine turned out to be Covid .......three weeks after the first flu type symptoms.

Not today as it was ongoing but MOT’d yesterday and it’s first outing today.

So it’s 4995mm long. The threshold for north isles ferries (within orkney) is 5m. Over that is per m and the price hurts more than a Jim’ll fix it medal. Getting it under was a challenge. DAF 55.250 tractor unit shortened and hacked a-team style with a shortened transit curtain grafted on. I’ve a roof rack to make for it next but he is happy. It has new curtains on order.

Roof rack as there is no limit on height. I will take a photo of some of the tall ones. They’re quite funny. Almost African spec

Amateurs....

I finished welding nan's chair stander. I made every mistake possible with the tig, starting with the first tack with the gas off and most of it far too hot. Practise blowing and filling holes in 1.5mm wall tube! Gave it a quick coat of red hammerite.

Stuck my tig torch holder together. Learnt a lot, but the welds are poo, and my bottle is now down to 80 bar!

Edit.. couldnt leave the welds as they were

I think Im going to add a few more bits... Pocket on the back for dirty tungstens, pocket on the side for the long ones/2.4mm's, and Im going to keep them in it rather than the plastic boxes!
Possibly another pocket on the left side for the reds.
