Had mine blow off once or twice, new good jubilee clip sorted it. I could get at both clips from underneath, was yours in a daft place?

Yes, hose clip onto bottom of intercooler was fitted in such a way it was impossible to get onto it from below hence bumper removal. Not difficult just a bit more hassle for something which should have been easy. Top hose blew off when I took it for a test drive, obviously hadn't tightened it enough. All sorted now ✌

Went to fit the new steel door at my pals yesterday and ended up helping him with this. He had loaned it out, let this be a lesson (or a reminder) why you shouldn't loan tools or equipment:

I lent my mixer to a neighbour and told him not to overload it and keep it clean, it came back in better condition than it went in.

Been meaning to sort out this for a while, its a micrometer stop for a Harrison M300

No before pics soz, it was grimey and gunged up with old grease/oil plus some surface rust, dunked it in the ultrasonic cleaner followed by a quick rub over with scotchbrite and WD-40 and its come up lovely



While I was at it, I did the same to this one



Yeah, I know, having 2 is a bit greedy so maybe time to let 1 go

The previously,2012,adapted long reach retaining bolt for this die,eventually sheared,so had to be drilled out,on centre,so I’ve resorted to a short m10 that won’t flex and sacrificed rotating room.
I used a long reach slot drill of the correct diameter,to centralise the drill first.

i had similar had to get most out with a kango hammer then shotblast and paint it . its come up like brand new again i lent a mate it and said i want it to come back without a spec of cement on it and told him to clean behind the paddles . it came back mint as it went out

I have fixed that problem, bought some new mixers last year and they go out on the proviso that they come back spotless and I mean spotless or it becomes "their mixer". Its strange how clean they return them now if there will be a £450 dent in their paypacket if they dont.

i bought 2 bell mixers 40- years ago and used to hire them out paid 150 quid each for them brand new one petrol one electric both still in mint condition and not a dent or mark on them .the petrol ones hardly used but the leccy one has done a lot of work the gearbox went on it as the earlier ones had a cast iron gearbox and were a bit iffy and it went so it got replaced with the newer aluminium cased one

Had this mower for about 20yrs, its had a hard life but ive only put 1 carb diaphragm in it and piece of cord for the pull start but I detected a wobbly rear wheel on its last outing

Ahh that doesnt look right! we have the technology though to get a bit more life out of it, blob away!

Found a bit of round nylon bar and added a bit of support

Better check the other side, yep thats on its way too

All back together now, I was pleased how well the rest of it was made with steel drive gears for the wheels and some nice
sealed bearings all of which were in great condition

Around the garden we have post and rail fencing which is a pain as the mower keeps wanting to go under the bottom rail
so your having to drag it out and reposition it, a bit more of the nylon bar fixed to the deck which will hopefully act as a guide!

Just got to wait for the dry weather/sun shine now.....

Buildt two lean to structures to keep firewood dry. Been offered a lot of free to collect logs lately. Last night it rained so been out checking for leaks. Had one small leak I believe should be an easy fix.

Its not high class carpentry. The shed is overgrown with vine. Maybe more than a hundred years old. I want to reinforce the frame with 2*6 and gradually change the siding.I am attacking the vine root system in the hope of stopping the growth. Made a wokbench in there and occationally does some welding (but for the most part weld outside).

Sons Husqvarna 350 leaking oil all over the place, needed looked. He bought it a while back as a spares or repair job. It had been robbed of bits which we replaced, cheap enough saw and the after market spares are peanuts.




As you can see oil everywhere. The oil pump is under the clutch assembly. It all has to come off



Everything off and cleaned up a wee bit. Oil pumps held in place with one screw. It stripped the plastic, always risk when working on these saws.




Decide to split the saw and clean it, oil had got everywhere



Back together

Oil way was partially blocked, hopefully that’s it cured now.

I have one with a broken pull start assembly. As you say the Chinese have copied this saw and parts are available.

There is - someone who'll cut it, split it, stack it to dry and deliver it to you when it's 'fire/stove' ready.....
