Not so much acquired as reaquired. A hopefully now working, rebuilt 2.5L G9U630 engine for my Vivaro camper van.

Just need to try to remember where all those plugs and pipes go now!

And remember next time to buy a van with a common engine, not a let's try and wedge this in there special.

been looking for some reasonable quality lathe tools for my new Harrison M300, took a punt on an ebay Pelicase with Kennametal lathe tools only one other bidder so got for £107.51:

Quite large and heavy, certainly a lot bigger than I was expecting:

Dozens of inserts, not all Kennametal, still think it was a decent buy:

Today I acquired some gurt castors to go on my engine test bench, the brake locks the wheel and the castor

Ditto on the brake cleaner pump spray, the only one that really works well

This pressure lamp that runs on kerosene. UK made I believe.

AKA Tilly lamp,
Will run on paraffin as well.
Just make sure the pump and mantle are in good condition.
If that is ok and it still didn’t light. Then the vaporiser is dead.

I believe kerosene and paraffin are the same thing. It needs to be pre-heated with a torch that is missing, but I am thinking I will turn a cup from aluminium that I can fill with alcohol instead and use it for preheating.

About 20yrs ago the old mans personal garage got broken into by some scum from the council estate behind, they took a few bits including his old Britool socket set and his spare toilet rolls!!
Anyway the insurance sorted it and replaced the socket set as well, hes now 96 the toilet rolls are long gone but hes a bit beyond using a socket set so its come home to get some use, it does
say its made in the UK but it doesnt feel as nice as the other older Britool set I have but its free!

If you go that way, filling with cotton string, so the "Meths." has something to soak into.
You want a min of 4 minutes to a max of 8 mins of pre heat.

Depends. We have both. Kerosene is a less? refined form of paraffin. Or, paraffin is a more? refined form of kerosene, whichever way suits.
