Not sure about that, not an insect expert by any means but doesn't resemble Cleggs I have seen, then again the ones I see are usually very flat with boot prints on them

I dunno WTF it was.@Pilgrim22 A bit of sharpish disrobing there?
I felt something on the back of my neck and thought spider / cobweb and carried on unloading.
Then i heard a buzzing and though a bee in my collar so carefully undid my shirt and slid it off.
If i had of known there was the insect equivalent of an Apache Attack Helo in there I would have not bothered undoing the buttons !!

Did you tig that? I have not tried on hard steel. Should I anneal or preheat the holder first?

I don't think the legs were particularly orange and it was 25 - 30mm. It also appeared to be much more heavily armed.
Looks like a wood wasp of some species (Actually a Sawfly not really a wasp) the big spike is not a stinger but an ovadepositer (egg layer) and as the name suggests it lays its eggs in wood. They spend 5 or so years in the tree and then emerge only to lay eggs in another tree.
Wera are my favourite screwdrivers by a mile & I found myself needing a long reach one last week. I didn't know they sold them, looks like the visas getting more abuse this month! Darn you anyway!

I have a whole mix of brands but am very fond of Weras. This set was only £21 from Amazon, flat/PH2/PZ2. They do a long Torx set too, T20/25/27/30 which i bought a while ago.
Double darn you! I'm after a decent torx set too! Currently using a cheap set of magnussons from screwfix & to be fair they're doing ok but one or 2 are getting worn.

Got this last week and well.impressed. accurate out the box, just put it together and worked on feed speeds. Cuts 1mm slices easy and not to slow. Hydraulic drop is spot on.

Whays more is it can do vertical aawell. Needs a table making but easy enough.
