Hammer and cold chisel, 20 seconds I reckon.....Can you imagine what he would have said if it had been his wheel nut that was stripped and not Botass's. Apparently still stuck until they get back to the factory and can dremel it off.
Job going in that team for a wheelnut man - idiot pressed the button befor being fully engaged...Interesting to see Toto the boss man is now saying some of the blame for Bottas' wheel nut problem was due to Bottas stopping slightly out of position causing the wheel gun not to go on straight!Err, how about the mechanic didn't get it on straight - the left hand side was fine afterall!
Talk about sticking the knife in
Can't see how that would have made any difference as the front left was ok and there was plenty of slack hose on the wheel gun. Perhaps the wheel gun man didn't know how to move from his designated spot! IMHO it was very wrong of Mr Wolff to even suggest it was Bottas' fault! Just image if it happened to Sir Lewis of Hamilton's wheel......................................................................................Doesn't help Bottas stopping 6 miles off his marks either.
Maybe, but nothing as catastrophic as this one, and an ill timed and unnecessary comment when Bottas is getting a lot of negative press about his future. Of course, that's just my opinionBad pitstops have happened to Hamiltons when he's stopped off the marks and he took the rap for it too![]()
He's not that far off the mark to make the difference, and if that was the case please explain how the three other wheelmen managed ok! As you can see in the picture, there is plenty of 'slack' on the air hose and by Wolff's own admission, the front right wheelman was the fittest and best of them all. Surely then he would have been able to adjust his stance by a few mm to line his gun up correctly!Tough luck, don't want the comment, don't stop that far off your marks. What, the wheelman should take all the bad rap when he's making a few zeros a year less than Bottas 'cause Bottas is getting bad press?
Unlucky, don't want the bad press, drive faster![]()
It is shame but, I do agree.I suspect Bottas's days at Mercedes are numbered anyway.

IMHO, it should not be about blame and correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall blame being directed at the wheelman, but as a respected team principal and someone who should have known better, Wolff did not have to make the point about Bottas after the race, as most people that watched it had put it down to a 'pit stop incident'!
They have, that was one of the reason Hamilton got all cry baby about.Haven.t Mercedes agreed to let Jack Russell drive the car on a trial basis in 2022 season, Toto has already said he wants Jack Russell in the car.

Ahh, so the guys that are fixing the issue are too blame as well! Interesting theory!and the engineers who are hastily revising the wheelnut to stop it happening again as well
Nope, not at all.....some sort of weird chip on shoulder about Lewis
