"Yes, but you should of seen the tools we dumped last week!!"



Small oil can and a set of small adjustable spanner.

A small battery drill.



A few bits.

A 1960's Pifco Car lamp.




Then the modern version.
LED rechargeable lantern, can be recharge via a USB lead.



60 years difference.





But what worried me was the word "Dental" on the suggested uses.

I’m doing the first three days of Clive’s course, so that should give me an idea of the basics of scraping it in.

Twas only a 4 hour round trip, but worth it. The QCTP I think is a Bison tool post, all the other copies seem to have either round or rounded off edges to the piston, 4 no name holders, 4 of the holders are Bison 4494/6-48 (T00). The Jacobs rubberflex I couldn't find the nose for the chuck, so will have to make one. Most of the cutters are new as well.

Oh and the mill appears to be in VGC for it's age

Today I received my flypress. Smaller than I was expecting but a bargain.
Fantastic palletising job. Better than even I would have done! Saved me a trip to Wiltshire.

What fitting is the rubberflex chuck? And where is the lathe to go with it?

The guy went back to Romania with his wife as they would have more family support for their new baby. I think he just bought and sold bits, unfortunately no lathe . The next door neighbor was asked to sell these off as he couldn't store them so I was lucky.

Rubberflex chuck is a 96-F1 but I couldn't find the nose to go with the chuck

Absolutely. The thing that is a mystery to me is that flypresses are reasonably common; it's possible to buy one for sensible money. But the "off the peg" bolsters to take the punch dies are as common as rocking horse sxxt and are invariably subject to crazy asking prices. e.g.

I have a half machined (from steel billet) No. 1 Hunton bolster clone which has been in a half finished state under my bench for a while now. Doubtless, the day I actually finish it, A Hunton item will turn up at a bargain price.

Bloody things. I recall my Dad's one [round red top, so earlier? ] and being told to come help him in the single car garage located away from the house, so not much room and no electricity.

I was instructed to hold the lamp in a certain position pointing under the wing while he repaired/replaced whatever component needed fixing. You try holding a heavy lamp pointing to an exact spot for ages when your head is outside the 'target' area and you're pointing blind.
Not easy for a kid and tempers are getting frayed due to constant 'tutting' and repositioning..... You just knew you weren't going to enjoy tomorrow....

The manual is available as a free download in several places, I have the PDF somewhere. Don't use the manual as a guide to what threads the bolts & fixings should be. They just seemed to use what was in stock at the time! On mine I have nearly every thread form ever invented!

A new base for the turntable of my Axminster saw,1 month out of warranty and it’s cracked,stopping it from being locked against rotation,see the closeness of the clamping threaded hole,I’m going to strap around that,ironically it didn’t crack there,it’s 37 months old,and as well as this,it’s also broken 2 blade drive wheels,
I’m pleased with its operations however and Axminster service is good,the saw is in use everyday by 3 operators.
