Another geared Mitre clamp, to go with the one I recently acquired.







Another stone dressing tool.



Bigger than the one I ordered, as my order was found not to be suitable to be sent. So it was up graded.



The Geared Mitre clamp I got the other day looked like this.

Actually 'acquired' these last year but they 'fell into my work bag as I left work' today; a pair of Eclipse S125 v-blocks...

I can't find any reference to 'Eclipse S125' v-blocks on the internets but they're currently bathing in WD40 to remove the dried up packing grease and paper still attached to them; they've never been used and quite possible they're as old as the school - 60's. Alas no clamps.

(One of the school technicians passed them down as he had yet another clear out; their office up on the second floor has a mint condition Union pillar drill (again, little used) and he told me that they once had a lathe up there; probably a Myford - we had one when I first arrived at the school some nine years ago but it was taken away before I knew enough to let me sell it for the school...

So I grabbed this six inch (!) Swinden's for a song.

Looks like it's been used as a boat anchor for the past few decades, should tidy up tho.

It is and there are no clamps with these blocks. I have a (bloody) big pair. Don't use them that often but when I need them, nothing else will do.

On my 24km run I went in Lidl, picked up the only decent looking steak they had and one of their digital callipers.
When I got home, Amazon had left me an ER25 MT2 collet chuck for £7, which I'll use for tailstock.

Lidl calliper, put the battery in, flashes random numbers for first third of the travel I noticed its got a slight bend (as all my cheap aldi ones do too, which work fine and very accurate). Applying a counter-bend reduces the damaged area, but the bend is permenent. Its going back tomorrow. Last 5 or so items from lidl have had to go back, so I wont buy from them any more - I know, I said that last time.

Is it called a fuller? The short handle sledge hammer makes me think they're blacksmith tools.

Not today but a while ago, it is the one I used for clearing ditches and hedging to earn pocket money as a teenager, a Yorkshire Bill Hook from Yorkshire.



@The_Yellow_Ardvark and others, where can I buy a new 14" (?) handle, what is left of the existing handle is around 28x 38mm where it enters the metal of the head.
There is a seller on Ebay that lists what I think would be suitable item no. 264499566360 but as two of my messages re that item have been ignored I doubt I will be giving them any of my money even if it is suitable.
