And there am I thinking that I don't own any classics, they are all just old:

1984 Kawasaki Gpz1100 A2
1976 Range Rover 2dr.
The first three are on the road and in regular use, the next two are complete but untaxed the last two are stalled projects.
In the Autumn when the ULEZ comes out to the South Circular only the BMW will be daily charge free which ironically is the least economic to run, almost as thirsty as the V8 Range Rover on carbs.

The blue one is a 1974 Citroen DSuper5. Five speed manual gearbox, pendant brake pedal. Very comfy (wife is asleep after 5 miles) but a lot of wind noise. Will cruise all day at 80mph (French motorways officer).
The white one is a 1972 DS20 Safari or estate. It came from Aude, southern France. It was an ambulance in Esperaza. Mushroom brake pedal. It had been converted to an ambulance, hence the Ghost Busters roof line. It was taken out of commission and stored in a barn for about 20 years. Next guy bought it, different barn, another 10 years. I bought it unseen from France, had it trailered home. It came with another full interior and Safari roof. It is being restored as a Safari. New liners and pistons so now 2175cc rather than 1985cc. Plus a five speed box instead of four.
I've fitted air con to both and made wiring looms for both.
With all DS variants, the brake pedal is merely a switch. If there is no hydraulic pressure, no brakes. I have lost all the hydraulic fluid once, the steering gets harder first, then the suspension, finally the brakes. Any loss of pressure and the 'big red light of doom' comes on next to the speedo. There is a separate reserve of pressure for the brakes as well.

I'm pretty sure it was the Olympic shell that formed the basis for the early production TVRs such as the Grantura.

That persisted as late as the 1990s in the Xantia, as did the jack-up suspension.
My dad used to look after the family cars for a guy who ran the local supermarket. In the 70s he bought a CX Safari to use for visits to the cash & carry.
First day he had it, he came running up the street to see my dad: can you come and take a look at this, something's hissing.
Dad went down: it was the self-levelling suspension, the guy had parked two wheels on the pavement...
One of my exes had a '93 Xantia; ignoring the flashing light on the dash (apparently it was my fault the oil ran low, even though she'd never mentioned the flashing light that she'd been looking at for 'several weeks') saw it throw a rod through the front of the block up near Sunderland.
I went up to tow it back and told her to drive the tow car and take it easy.
Straight up to 60mph with about 25 feet of towrope.
I dabbed the brakes. Not much happened.
I dabbed them again, harder, and even less happened.
I picked up the Nokia, because you could in those days, and called her. Slow down, I said, I haven't got any brakes. So she braked
I jammed it into gear and let the clutch up, and more bits of engine escaped through the hole, but at least I didn't ram my own 309 GRDT.
Probably the scariest 20 miles I ever drove - or rather, steered.

Hello ronan, my brother used to work at the factory, so a few parts left, apart from trochoid housings , cranks too I think. They will see us out probably !. He owns the original air cooled prototype..
