does it tell you when to brush your teeth , if I could roll back time I would, dont read that wrong love tech just it takes over sometimes , as long as it earns its keep and makes life easier , but I couldnt drive with that glare on the dash , I turn my dash lights low so as no distraction on motorway.

Haha, I'd just turned it on at that point, it dims right down at night and isn't too bad, it's used for feeding the cows so you need it roughly in your line of sight to watch it.

Our current one has the power slide but you still need to get the weight just right to get it too slide.

I check out the clamps today all seems to work and hold well, I managed to slide the boom from one side to the other and back that was a lot of fun phew, and I didn't churn the drive up to much honest, there is definitely a knack to it though ha ha.

On the jcb I unlock the clamps and push the bucket onto the ground to fully push the clamps back in then try and get it in the sweet spot to push over.

I had a sweet delivery today . The buckets I bought arrived they were picked up on Monday,



they are a lot bigger than I thought mind you I have only been used to the Tusker ones, I am going to need a bigger dumper. They are both 2 foot buckets one with teeth and one without. I bought the pair as I was thinking of cutting one down to make a 1 foot bucket, just need to check if there is enough space where the pins go through. Being so big there is a lot more work in it, if I can do it I would have the 2 foot bucket to do the main digging a 1 foot for small trenching, cables and pipes and things and the 5 foot ditching bucket for grading.

Still got the black paint on the rears, I checked the pin holes with a spare pin off the digger, spot on with very minimal ware. I love a delivery when its here, gives me sleepless night until they arrive though as getting to many messers now on the auction sites

Spot on. I am off now to do some research on how to do loader ram seals the left hand side one is leaking a bit more than I first though especially when it under load.

Id be inclined to try and find a 1ft bucket if you can, it's handy having a bucket without teeth for working near services.

Thats a good point Fraser I hadnt though about that I will look for a narrower bucket, there is no rush, plus if I can find the steal I have the template now, I could always make one

I keep meaning to make a tapered bucket, maybe 4" on the bottom and up to 14" wide on the top, can't go narrower as my quick hitch is 14".

I like that idea a tapered one, I was only thinking 1 foot as the hitch part is 10" wide. I made a couple of buckets for my Tusker obviusly a lot smaller though.

I think it would be a good bucket for waterpipes and draining, 18" is the narrowest we have, its a fair trench it leaves.

Yes me to, I have to put some 4inch pipe in to a septic tank later in the year i’m thinking 4 or 6" inch bottom and what ever i can get at the top. You got me thinking now I picked up an old loader bucket a while back I was going to make it into a 4 foot bucket for fathers DB but now I have the digger I could use the steel, if it is thick enough to make that tapered bucket.

Failing that you could always ask Luka @ CLH Trailers a call. Chris the owner told me a story of the first say he showed up to work - it was turning into one of those days and a farmer mate of Chris' turned up and asked if he could send someone with a welder to repair a bucket for him that he needed patched urgently.

To give Chris some time to breathe he thought I know I'll send the new guy so I can sort things out to get him set up properly. Anyway end of the day arrives and Chris suddenly remembers Luka and asks the guys in the shop - anyone seen the new guy? Response was I don't think he's come back from that bucket patch you sent him on first thing. Just at that moment he walks in - Chris asks what on earth took so long as it just needed a patch on the side of the bucket. Luka's response (he's Polish) was "bucket ****, made new bucket" .

Chris learnt never to send Luka on a patch job again - he's got so much pride in his work that he either does it properly or won't do it at all.
