I had a session on that Old Peculiar 30 odd years ago and I ended up walking like Bambi.Old peculier.
That brings back memories.
i was a member of the usenet group "uk.local.yorkshire".
We had "meetings" (drinking sessions) several times a year, and always seemed to end up in the Duck+Drake in Leeds.

The first time we went, we emptied 2 barrels - basically what he sold in a month - in one afternoon.
Subsequently, I always went in to warn him to expect us, so he could put a bulk order in.
It's sort of like strong guinness, but without the bloating effect, which makes it easy to drink 12 or 15 pints without realising.
It's really the only beer that I like - and only from the D&D. Most other pubs: it's not so good.
Well a couple of months ago a Higo no kami knife, but I did make a post about it then but without a pic, so here's the pic...

It's quite a bit stronger than that Shipstones tosh that abounds in your neck of the woods, but I'd wager a pint of Batemans XXXB against it.
