The core drill adaptor, that I no longer need but wanted to finish anyway. It needed a cross drill for the driving pin. Id been thinking how to get it on centre and straight, decided just to mill flats instead.
Core drills are typically painted including the threads. The grub screw hole good for cutting the paint out.

Haven't made anything per say, but I made this jalopy start today after 5 years of hibernation

The fuel had turned green and the strainer filter and brass tube in the tank has disintegrated

I made sima, kind of analogous to ginger beer I guess, traditionally made for may 1st in finlad, along with funnel cakes.

my dad had an urban tiger from new he still regrets selling it, fetching good money now

Nope, lemons and dark sugar mainly and some actual beer too. Raisins are also put in the bottles when bottling.

Today, I made [most of] a draw bar so that I can use a collet chuck in the Myford. Just have to decide what I'm going to put on the end for when I need to 'whack it out' [technical term there... :whistle:

] - probably turn, drill and tap a bit of brass.

i finished wiring the new head light relays on the ambulance today and what a difference it has made, they are now a lot brighter and happy being fed 13.8v through the relays instead of the poltry 11v through the military switch. i also made a start on the front fogs, knocking up a simple wiring diagram for the fogs so they are only available when the headlights are active and then i will get on with the wiring.

I had to make a new end cap for a Makita impact wrench gearbox. We have a couple of new ones on order but the last one on site fell apart today and we need it for tomorrow. I stripped it down and found that the thread had stripped on the end cap and the whole front end hangs off that part.

Initially I thought to just put the two haves together and tack it in three places with my tig welder or even using loctite bearing fit to bond the halves together. Welding didn't work at all just made a horrible greasy mess and I was a bit doubtful about the loctite since it had stripped a 1mm pitch thread so the gap was quite large. In the end I decided to make one. Took me about 1.5hrs. The thread is 39.3mm diameter 1mm pitch left hand and only 4 turns long. The odd size is because the stripped thead on the cap had also partially worn out the thread in the housing. I turned the OD to 39.3mm and kept doing small threading passes and test-fitting the housing until it screwed on.
