The original iPod the big ones were great
Wiped the floor with every other mp3 player
The only failing was iTunes. Hateful software

The DAC in the original iPod is supposed to be much better than the later ones, mine is one that looks like an iPhone 5, I can not remember what it is called but it sounds ok and integrates well to the car which is why I got it.
I thought that the HDDs for the original iPod were no longer available, something to do with only ever one manufacturer (Toshiba?) who gave up making them when Apple moved to making SSD iPods.

This was heading for a scrap pile today before i jumped in and save it, It does work but i wanted it for a room in my house that i fancy in a 1930's style.

Yes thats good advice i will strip it down and check inside that nothing is rotted away making it deadly, It might just be light restore and stick a LED bulb in to use it more of an ornament.

They were/are a good slow room heater.

They look good with a modern, but old look 3 core cable and a retro plug.

The earth connections with the old wires was very good.

A clean with a cotton cloth, warm soapy water will bring the paint up. The a light car wax will buff it nicely.

That LED idea sounds cool..i would love a room dressed up from the 1930,s or even back to the 20,s

I have plenty of old bits in storage for the 20's and 30's including a 2 seater three piece sweet with nice curved arms that is very comfortable and a wind up record player that was handed down.

A drawknife, needs a bit of TLC. I just fancied doing the odd bodge now and again so had to get one

Its actually for the missus, we have grown loads of hazel and willow, we had a big coppicing session a while ago and she's beginning to make all sorts of stuff, I'll probably get the kids to help me make a shave horse.
