Best upgrade ever

Parting at 200rpm with about 1kw of torques. I had no fear of it stalling and could wind it in fast as I liked!

I want a bigger pulley

I thought this .775" drill was a mistake, too big, too much chatter. Wrong I just needed more torques 200rpm it cuts perfectly.

A shrink fit sleeve is the best way I can l fix this. Should be easy enough to get the end red hot, so I may try to braze after for some added security.

Shrink fit was a failure but thats what big hammers are for I tried to braze but nowhere near hot enough with map. It'll do as is.. quick photo before I ruin it

First attempt at pressure turning. Removing extractor from window need a really quick temporary way to block hole and two of these are it.

Break myself in nice and easy 40T in Delrin. Came out pretty much perfect!

Making a pair of alumium sidepanels for my xj650 single seater project, nearly done the LH, run out of argon.
Everywhere is closed...

Quick update - picked up 20l of argon, job delayed by the arrival of a replacement engine for the vmax.
Engine is in, had to do some tidying up of the frame paintwork first, which delayed things a bit.

Why not? Time to cut or chances of a mistake? To reduce the second, print out a disk with 127 lines on it (there are online things that will give you a pdf), stick it on the blank and set up a height gauge/scribing block pointing at the lines. Then you can do a quick visual check of your indexing before pushing the cutter through it.

I do that when dividing. I cut a few teeth then set up a pointer to an edge of one of them. It's saved me from indexing errors a few times.

Get yourself a stepper motor and a DivisionMaster if you can afford it. That'll halve the time.

I bought a load of Arduino gear recently for that very purpose, but I want to cut this gear before I will get around to doing that.

Finished off the toolholder blank I started weeks ago, assumed I ruined it by cutting too deep, not ideal, but it will work.

Quick go at lunch trying a 10mm ripper cutter. This is going to be a 32mm parting blade holder.
