Gives details of just about every low (under16') bridge in the country, weight limits, 1.5 mile to the inch scale, and never packs up or suffers from a flat battery. I buy a new one every year because I use it so much it gets tatty, change from £20 and worth every penny.

That’s one book I’ve got stuffed behind the seat, lists most farms too which is nice being on fert or feed products most of the time now.

I don’t know how it’s possible to hit a bridge?!? It’s not like they’re inconspicuous, or unmarked

last month I saw a wagon with 3 scrap[cars one on top of each other going the other way they were quite high. I turned round fast and bombed up the road after it to watch it go under the flyover bridge it just to say clipped it and got through the last one I saw didn't. he left his hiab stuck up and battered 3 of the I beams

Yes, and I flinched noticeably going under every bridge between the centre of Dewsbury and Barking.

In the early 80s a few inches of tarmac had been added to the surface of the M1 over the years, especially on the really heavily used southern stretches. The problem was only gradually becoming apparent but suddenly became an issue when a lot of trucks started clipping the bridges. Cue much red-facedness from various authorities who really should have checked something like that. It cost millions to reduce the surface height - effective undoing all the work that had been done and re-laying new.

Anyone with a working brain should have known that adding to the surface will reduce the clearance! How the hell do these people get a job in civils when they're that thick?

A bit like the idiot that decided to build a lay-by on the A14 opposite Cambridge Crematorium, just few yards before the M11 junction 14. Any traffic leaving the lay-by for the M11 literally took their life in their hands, I don’t think the lay-by was open a week before it was closed

The box is a bit rusty but inside was a gem. Advertised on facebook and for once it was round the corner from me so I could get round there pretty sharpish before anybody else got it It's missing a few dies but all the sizes I use are in there.

Search ebay item 312981769697 seller is scottstores. Also item 312988175507...looks like he sells job lots. I was tempted by the rivets he has and some of his other stuff looks interesting and descent prices.

I have no link to the seller...just came across when I was looking for clips.

Bought this last week, noticed the hand looked rusty in the sellers pics, a quick message confirmed it was rust. Listed at £40. I offered them £20. Doesn't look to have been used, strange how the dial has suffered water ingress but the bright work hasn’t.

Didn’t matter as I wanted it for the attachments, so 20 was a fair price.



Took the back off, and there doesn't look to be any corrosion. Beautifully made, the bezel came off and a little clean, it looks a lot better.

It can go in the ‘I don't want to use my best/ stuff/ you can borrow this one box’

electric stairlift, ebay, £10.50 bit of a drive though, 4 miles away, near to Lidle, may collect it Thursday! thinking the motor etc could be handy to motorise a bead roller, reversing, must be quite powerful to lift a 20+ stone person up stairs and slow geared, will post some pictures when I get and strip down, worst ways might need it in a few years!
