Damaged lead, so unable to be PAT. Good point.
No side handle, so not safe. No point
Safety guard seized. Fair point.

Few minuets on my hands, between mad phone calls and escaping seeing the In laws today.




Easy enough to open, 2 screws to hold the clamp in and 2 for the cable. But what alerted me to issues was the rust on the screws holding the cable cores.
But they came out easy enough.

Now I am a bit tight, and was going to save the plug, but looking inside I decided not to.



Yes, that again is rust from the cheep brass coated screws and terminals. That also is a 10a fuse.

So raid the grave yard, find a new lead, moulded plug re-wire. PAT and clean and I now have a cheep grinder.

Now I need to finish my rotary converter build

That bloody thing's older than me. I hope you're going to have the inspection plugs out and assess the level of corrosion around the cylinder before charging it.

It'll be a while before I do anything with it. It will get a complete strip and inspection. The receiver looks to be 3/8" or thicker.

I'll rig something eventually perform a hydraulic test. It's tested at 240psi and rated at 160.

I wouldn't get 2 hung up about a leak on the tank. if it was rusted through which is hardly likely it would just pin hole at the bottom. if that was the case just turn the tank over and give it some good taps with a ball pein hammer if it dents its thin if nowt happens its fine

I’ve never had a set of welding/grinding shields so these were a no brainier.
I’m not sure what most of the anvil stakes are for but I’m sure I’ll find a use for them.

the "tuning fork" is for bending.
the top left is a hot chisel.
the ones on the right (top 2, bottom 2) are for making specific shapes- possibly should have a matching top tool.

the two flat blocks are for working inside corners.
the centre tool looks like a tinman's stake for working internal seams etc.

the bottom left triangular tool? not sure

A bad back and a new lathe been doing some frantic swapping in order to acquire this off a friend and am really pleased now it’s arrived!
Moving my old lathe was entertaining as I did it on my own and a pit board snapped under it as I was moving it out. Thankfully pit is filled to within 6” of the top but still, a bit of poo came out.

It’s an ex school machine, has a brand new single phase motor on at the mo but has come with the original 2 speed 3 phase motor, as it’s the high speed version. Also came with 4 boxes of tooling weighing about 20 kilos each, a set of random changwheels (not off the Harrison, will need to identify them) and a box of horizontal milling cutters I’m not telling you what it cost me in realistic terms as I’ll get lynched but fair to say I couldn’t have bought the motor for it in Cash, much less the whole machine

I was waiting for that, it’s not a fixed steady for that machine unfortunately. It will however end up as one for it, needs machining to suit the bed
