Because I have 4" of celotex in the walls and ceiling of my heated workshop...Why water and not antiffeeze?

I’ve never had much great results from the ones I’ve used in tig coolers. The copper piped exchangers seem to do a much better job if tank volume is limited.

I wouldn’t personally.antifreeze strops corrosion, electrolysis, lowers the surface tension of the water and kills bugs etc. too
I would welcome the opportunity to take you up on that offer... I’ll be in touch. I’d like to see how you are getting on with that picomig puls180 tooI bought a big drum of the proper stuff if you need some pop round one weekend when you are up in frome
That's the beauty of eBay Richard, it allows experimentation with minimal risk, I can always return it if it doesn't work.
I'm perfectly happy for anybody buying something off me 2nd hand on this forum to return it if it wasn't what they expected or wanted...That's the second time you have mentioned this in the thread.
You are buying parts to use in a way for which they were never sold and then if they do not work, you expect to return them and the seller to suffer.
Is there not some great dishonesty going on here? When you sell something on here, would you allow the buyer to treat you in the same way?
I could've sworn that This Old Tony had a video just a week or so ago where he 'upgraded' a TIG cooler he'd been given by an American company... he put in PC fans and a bigger radiator if I recall. Maybe he took it down precisely because he was given it and they didn't like what he did; it may have been perceived as showing shortfalls in their own product.
I'm following this thread with interest as making my own cooler is something I'd like to do; just before this one started I'd been looking at previous DIY builds on the group. With a TIG machine with 'fan on demand' I appreciate how quiet is normally is so I'd like a cooler that has the same - and a quiet pump.
One thing I read elsewhere is that bigger PC fans are quieter than smaller ones; if I recall TOT's had four smaller ones.
I thought TOT paid full retail for his new HTP package? I must have been mistaken. Either way, the HTP coolers are generic £250 chinese jobs - not especially quiet affairs.
TOT tig torch video still up??
They will take the pressure, well the cheap Chinese ones might not but no worse than a cheap Chinese car matrix. Some of the pc ones don't have very strong mounting points though so I would not bother as when they are full of water I can see them being ripped apart if bouncing around in a car.can those computer radiators take decent pressure? they would be good for car heater matrix's

You shouldn’t use tap water and being an infrequent user is going to probably be worse because that water is just going to sit in the lines when not in use damaging that copper core.If you are an infrequent user tap water is surprisingly cheap providing you have decent pressure and ideally a tank to put the run off into for giving to animals or watering the garden.
