I do help support a cancer charity, ..... but I always have this feeling that every pound a charity raises, the treasury thinks that’s another pound we don’t have to give them, so back to square one. Yes ok call me a cynical old sod, but I’ve been around long enough to know how governments work.

not the best of subjects as half my relatives have died early because of it but I often wonder if they produce accounts of how much has been donated and where it has been used

I checked my watch - 7 minutes from my call to the neighbourhood officer to two patrol cars arriving to 'have words'.

Ive found that those charidee clothes bags they regularly post through the door for you to fill are just the right size for pedal bin liners in the kitchen

over a certain turnover, they have to publish accounts by law.

One of them got snarling angry when I wouldn't buy his stuff, I had to see him off, but he was not happy.

they are threatening for kids and old folk, and the gov should do a publicity campaign to make it clear that it is fraud, and probably 'casing the joint'.
Needs to get mentioned on the telly etc to make it clear.

I've heard of people collecting all their junk mail and filling reply-paid packages with it.

Very late one night, not long moved in, about 10 years back, I was messing in the shed and the wife storms in with a foreboding look and says there's people at the door and it must be for you or your stupid mates, says nothing else and storms off.
2 working ladies stood there with a non working wxxxxxxr in a car, I explain I have not placed an order and got a bit of argy bargy but it was clear it was a mistake and not mine! Straight up and none of my mates ever admitted to it as a prank.

Although their english was a bit dodgy, it was at least crystal that it would not be for charity.

they certainly are tryers I had a young lad working with me he was one . I asked him what he did after going round all the houses he said we go round again I said why is that didn't you learn the 1st time the word …. off

My wife always tells the jehovas witnesses that her husband would love to speak to them and she gives them my name and at what times would best for them to call round and find me at home

I think it’s her little way of getting me back for all the greasy handprints and marks I leave around the house.

I don’t mind the two ladies, we are on first name terms and even tho they realise that I have no interest whatsoever we still always end up having a little chat

There was a murder near me here a good few years ago, a lad in a car was plugged by another loon with a mac10 machine pistol no less. We all thought it was the usual drug wars. But it actually turned out to be two eastern european crime gangs fighting over charity bags and used clothes. Apparently there was serious money to be made in it.

JWs asked my mates Dad what he thought was wrong with the world.....His answer "Flies" and then went into his well worn diatribe abot flies spreading disease and this disease affecting peoples brain and in turn they do strange things etc etc etc
The JWs are edging up the path saying "well we will have to get on, nice to speak to you"...whilst hes still only in the first stanza of his theory

Im still not sure if hes serious or taking the mickey

There will never be a cure for cancer as long as big cancer charities exist.

I used to give regularly to Cancer Research monthly, but then I did some reading and found out they get approx £600,000,000 a year in income and STILL don’t have any sort of a cure for cancer.

There are also a whole bunch of anomalies and abnormalities in the way their books are run, can’t remember th details now, so I stopped donating.
