I think part of my problem is not understanding what the experts are saying..lolthere normally ceiling mounted and require a permanent live and a neutral .the outgoing switchwire to light is conection a on the conection plate if you want override you would use 2 core and earth through a 1way light switch wired across live and conection a on pir
now that makes sense....I just need to ignore the original switch and hope I dont need the light permanently on. Perhaps I should have aimed lower in the first place.
get one near enough and finish off with a padsawfftopic:Just clicked on the above link for the flush in ceiling mounted detector 64mm why whenever i have had to fit a down light is it a size that nobody make a holesaw in.
Yes 64mm is a standard size that's what surprised me if you build and manufacture downlights how hard can it be to have a look and see what size holesaws are made.they do..View attachment 162963
Ah. I read it wrong....AGAIN. lolYes 64mm is a standard size that's what surprised me if you build and manufacture downlights how hard can it be to have a look and see what size holesaws are made.
Just replaced some at home had to go up a size used 2 cutters and mandrels mounted back to back to open the diameter up.
sorry mate I dont know if its me being thick,
stupid or deliberately dense but I cant understand that.. ;(
Yeah, I wouldn’t expect the neutral to be switched at all, just a small relay contact in the pir to switch the live and the neutral being a permanent connection on the light fitting. The live and neutral to the other side powers the pir electronics.they are marked in and out two pairs, how they are switch internally is not known, i have assumed they are a linked pair.
normally there is no need to switch the Neutral. if it is required then it would be done at the switch.
