I got a bit of time before I headed home to have a mess with the Stealth.
5mm 5083 Aluminium.
I tried 3 different balance settings, -2, 0 and +2 with a frequency of 80Hz
First it was square wave which is like the Parweld was.
-2 and 0 felt fine but +2 just seemed a bit different, can't really explain.
Next was Sine wave. Just can't seem to get along with this waveform, the welds look ok and look better than in the pic but it just doesn't feel right. Zero seemed to be the best balance setting for this.
Last was Saw wave. I am not sure what it is but I just seem to like this, it feels right for some reason. Balance of zero or +2 seemed to get the best results but -2 was pretty close.
I then tried upping the frequency to see how that seemed.
Square wave was fine but Sine and Saw just didn't seem to like the high frequency, kind of felt like I was touching down with the tungsten, especially in the sine wave, but I wasn't. To make sure nothing had happened I switched back again to square wave for the last bit and again the weld was decent.
My tungsten didn't like the high frequency much either, saw being the worst for this and the tungsten ended up looking like a mushroom.
