I usually buy the poundstore 'Alraldite' knockoff for my arrow tips but I also got a glue gun today, never used a hot glue gun so I don't know if the adhesive is good.

I have one of the early green bodied Bosch , triggered glue guns & have frequently had problems getting the required 12 mm dia hot melt glue sticks .
As a result of the problem I found out …..
You need to make sure you know the diameter of the glue stick replacements before you use the originals all up as there are now three of four different diameters on the market .
There are also different strength grades of the rods, my translucent ones are nowhere near as hard as the dark green or dark brown ones .

Not today, maybe a month or two back I fished this out the scrap skip at work, used to be one piece (someone will probably know what it was). Base is 10mm and will make a nice temporary/mobile welding bench for the time being. Castors removed tonight and I'll attach it with the 9" grinder to get the remains of the uprights off tomorrow.
Drum, well it's ali, but I think I might try a patio burner, see if it's thick enough to stand up to it.

And then there's this, Grandpa came up the road for august to stay with the folks while my Aunt and uncle were away (he's 96, still at home but needs a bit of help with shopping and things). He brought this up for me, he had always planned for me to have it and decided now was the time.

Story goes that he swapped something for it with a German commando at the end of the war (he was RAF), when he got home Grandma's dad thought it was to dangerous so broke the tip off
The Luger Pistol he brought back was thrown in a river many many years ago (before my time), it's difficult to get much out of him about this stuff, he doesn't talk about the war but I'm happy to have it. Also only found out during this visit that he had been a test pilot on the Barracuda, our attempt at a dive bomber, he said it wasn't very successful.

More like the sound amplifiying horn out of a cheap cabinet installed wind up gramophone.

The old cat's whisker ( later we had a fixed crystal set ) radios we had were put in a tin bucket that was laid on it's side and supported by books to stop it rolling off the table.
In 1953 we got posh and got a second hand radio that needed two lead acid glass accumulators for the power . I remember being sat on the back of my Mums pushbike when she took the flat accumulators in the handle bar basket six or so miles to get them charged up by a former RAF radio operator as we didn't have electricity ( nor a mains water supply) .

You can just see the horn under the turn table .

Real quality cabinets, not the oak utility one above, were made of rose veneered ply's and had the horn made from a lovely thin polished rose veneer ply as well . If you tapped it with a clean wooden meat skewer it gave a very pleasing resonant tone.

Well my idea of a small blue tooth speaker in it should be ok , will clean it up an use it in the cave ,

I use my Bosch oscillating multitool at work for cutting in dry lining electrical back boxes in plaster board, it's a god send.
I used to have to stab the wall with a plaster board pad saw then cut the required shape out, not as easy as it sounds when you have to cut through a double layer of acoustic plaster board.

God knows how much they cost. 26" on 6"rims max pressure is 12psi. They are tubeless with the schrader valve in the tyre wall.

You will need deep pockets for sure. The 29" and 35" sizes will set you back around several thousand dollars, so grass landings are preferred regarding wear.

Same here thought I am usually have to deal with 12mm ply faced with a sheet of plaster board, just about impossible with a pad saw. The ply is there to take the weight of a monitor or display screen, works up to about a 70" screen beyond which the screen getting as little too heavy for a MF wall.

I had to add an extra network socket next to a display screen and I wondered what the hell I'd cut into before it dawned on me that it was a plywood support backing!

Saw a Migatronic KDE 400 with wire feeder in a skip behind an engineering company today, obviously its karked it, but is it worth anything for spares is the question ?

Of course it's worth asking for it .
It may be a simple DIY repair , new board or worth a few bob if you strip the copper etc out of it .

I wanted one of them oscillating multitool jobbies, I just about have an excuse for one with some door hinges and some awkward sanding to do and people keep saying they are the dogs danglies and you'll find loads of uses once you have one. So I saw a body only Milwaukee C12MT for £54 inc VAT and delivery on t'internet, elsewhere 75 quid cheapest. It is now mine, and since delivery the supplier has upped the price to 70 quid



I have a fair bit of 12v Milwaukee now, nice and light and powerful enough for my use. I shall try it out in the morning, I daren't in the afternoon as I'm off to a beer festival at lunch time

It came with a saw blade and the usual triangular sanding pad and I've since bought a variety of finger sanders, rasps and blades from multitoolworld. It's minutes since I have bought a tool and I was getting withdrawal symptoms, I'm going sober for October so the savings in beer will pay for it.

A major stroke of luck as I for chatting to our neighbour when I got home from work, he'd had a Gumtree 'no show' and was wanting only £15 for two old 18" Stillson wrenches (one Record and the other Ridgid, Idaho) and the wee anvil. We agreed that I could have them if the Gumtree chap hadn't got back to him by the time I was back walking the dogs; he hadn't so they're now mine.

George, our neighbour, is in his 70's and thinking about getting a new place with his new girlfriend (he was widowed a few years ago) so slowly clearing stuff out; says he has more old tools yet to see the light of day... he was a welder on the rigs back in the day.

Nice! And it might work to your advantage for some of his future disposals. He'll get a fair price from you for bits you need/want [or even, work out a job lot deal with him, since you'll be in no hurry for him to sort through it] and he'll be saved the chore of listing them & dealing with the online 'messers' - so win:win.
